New Red Owner with Raven I/O Kit, Picked Up Yesterday

Hello all.

Just acquired my first RED camera and luckily I was able to find a local vendor that had an Oct 2015 preorder dropout. I picked up the I/O V-Lock kit yesterday and will be building it out shortly. Really excited to get going!

" We will be best for beginners " - the Red's new slogan ?

We ordered ( and paid ) our RED Raven on September , 2015 .
Why we still wait ( as waited our first red one more than one year ) , if other orders placed on Oct 2015 already delivered ?

Ok , we as veterans can still shoot on our old cameras ...

Careful with that tiny top handle. Most definitely will want to get a different one or side handle.

I have not used the smaller one myself, so I am curious about the warning. What do you not like about the small one? The larger one does not work with some V-Lock batteries as they are too tall and the large top handle (with record button on it) gets in the way. In that scenario, you want a smaller top handle.

The smaller handle works fine. I use it all the time.

As for the comment from Malk... Read the post carefully. He did not order direct through RED, but rather through a third party/dealer. No one is cutting in line.

I plan on getting the current side handle until the DMSC2 handle comes out in the fall, especially since there's already a nice cutout for it in the hard case!
