New RED OLED EVF Questions

Thanks Mark. That is what I am wondering - whether it is just part of the OLED experience and that you just have to get used to it.

Oye veh, I hope not.. For a nearly $5000 VF I am expecting a lot. I hated the original!
Hate is a tough work.. I didn't like using it.. Unless my 1st forced me

Yes to ground glass effect. I suppose that's the OLED surface. Doesn't bother me.
Juddering is only present on high contrast objects. Pretty much what I'd expect.

Don't look for it. Once you see it, you'll always see it. Forget this thread. :)

Hi Peter. It is a faint static image like a kind of transparent screen visible in the OLED image all the time.

You mean the bayer pattern? like a mosquito net woven into the image background? if so, i see this quite often on R3d footage....in fact freaked me out about 4 years ago when i saw it and took screen shots and Grahm examined them.....was usually there when downsampled, BUT, not in my final rendered work....but that sucks if it's the same pattern and we have to look at it...

I Have my upgraded OLED VF and if I struggle I can see a hint of what you all are talking about, but nothing distracting or OMG what the F? Looks fine.. Only thing I still am not 100% satisfied with is the the curvature of the glass. You need to have your eye in the finder fairly perfectly straight on to see the whole image in its sharp beauty.
