Hi,

I'm using RCX build 356 with a Rocket. I recently brought in some footage to RCX. I was doing one lights and everything was going great until I loaded up one clip into the viewer. Then, half of the Viewer went wonky (see attached).

I tried loading another clip and another clip, but they were all the same. The right 50% side of the frame was all messed up in viewer. I restarted the computer. I then tried to load a clip up (not the problem child). It worked fine. I then loaded every other clip except the one that gave me the original issue. Everything was great so I decided to load the problem child in and the error happened again. THe right 50% of the viewer was all jacked up.

I then went to the source file in my Finder and I loaded up one of the proxy files from the source R3D then it plays just fine.

Has anyone ever seen this type of thing before? Is there a solution?

I'm seeing the same issue also. It would show up on all my clips AFTER I'd play a corrupt clip, not before. What's nutty is that once I played the known corrupt clip, a restart of REDCINE-X_build_356, nor a shut down or a restart of my computer would solve the problem, all clips would continue to display the issue regardless if I played the known corrupt file first or not. The same problem would also occur while viewing clips in Storm.

I suspected that the Rocket card was the problem, so I restarted my computer and initiated a PRAM reset, letting the Mac chime four times. This would temporarily solve the problem. Again, all my clips would play fine until I played the known corrupt clip and then all clips would display the issue.

So... I ran the Rocket firmware update again, even though the software stated that I was running the current version, 1.1.10.2_1.10.1. I then trashed all the preference files related to any RED product from my Preferences folder, and any cache files related to any RED product that I could find on my computer. I then shut down the computer, waited a bit, then booted up and again performed a PRAM reset with four chimes.

All seems to be running just fine now! All my clips play correctly and the strange display issue gone, regardless if I play the known corrupt clip or not. I'll keep you posted if the issue arises again.
