  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New project...

This had better not be a Big Red Christmas tree, with a Red bauble on top, joke.

tell me you're the mastermind behind Faraday Future and that you are putting all of the car's intelligence into the wheels and building a solar body to power an autonomous body with free energy. that would be something for everybody.

that is a very secretive and tease-y company, too, so it would make sense if they are using the JJ playbook of torturing their followers with the promise of a new and exciting future.

I've just had an idea to replace a number of micro satellites. Then I had an idea on a new propulsion system.

I'd also vote for Jim for president, even though I'm not American. I'll just go to a sanctuary city and vote there. No hai Inglisi.

Wayne, I LOVE YOU, MAN. I can't vote you into office but if I were in office I'd make you a senior something-or-other.

Thanks Karim. That makes me feel good, yes senior "something or other" seems to fit the bill. :)

So, another camera patent, apart from that camera phone patent. There are somethings you might have noticed.

Now guys, how many of you are going to be holding this large tablet sized thing? Like that little young guy is.

Notice it has finger like holding notches in another diagram, like it was smaller, like phone sized.

Notice on the phone patent the same type of notches. I think it was talking about doing 3D but I can't remember, but no 3D kens setup in shown.

Could it be that the two patents are set up to show examples avoiding showing a particular phone/small tablet sized 3D product.

Jim had previously mentioned a single lens 3D, firmware updatable.

Keep an eye on the electrical certifications authorities for new camera certifications applications in future (if that is an avenue used on.these types of cameras).

Looks familiar (this sort of camera configuration has been going around for many years, even adobe had one). You should see my diagrams for the recent camera project I abandoned. 10x+ more convenient, way more new tech. Looking for investors. Was lookimg at $100-200 price for a basic camera compression and storage limiting resolution) and more expensive ones. Sold to consumers and prosumers to hit.the pricing (advanced R&D to get the full design). Unfortunately with all the other stuff happening, when I went to look at the imaging component I found out it used an technology like an old idea of mine I rejected for quality images, which can be seen on the sample images). So, maybe a low end SD-720p for the cheap basic unit. But I have not exhausted where to find suitable sensors yet. We are talking ussable s35-to imax like formats on a pocket camera with advanced low powered and display tech. Things look primitive to it. Suitable for phones and action/drone use. New manual controls methods. Want great images even at 1 lux. Spin off technologies extensive. Hopefully central sensor for computational photography as well. Looking at 100m market at the.high end of numbers, mostly consumer. Pro's get the benefit that it is setup for them too. On the high end, a high end model maybe $2000 with all the.new tech (the low end can use more existing tech to reduce the price at introduction).

I forgot, they don't like light field technology, but same principle applies. It is difficult to get away from the basic principles and get purer image. My original alternative to light field was calculation from the focus circle, but it went back further than that, to another technique, but it us hard yo rember dates now. But computational photography was proposed in the 29's or 30's. They seem to be abandoning the single lens and or pixel concept. A lot of single lens techniques are compromises, like deinterlacing done badly was compared to progressive. I come up with many single lens techniques. A number are listed in a post where I questiom what the proposed Red technique was a few years back.

Motion 3d scan. And than virtually move where ever you want in space and time.

Karim, thanks for this. I was interested in doing a lenless camera as a demo around 12 years ago. But I concluded that there would be too much image degregation. Been working on a simpler thin lens system. The whole light field needs big lens is just plain wrong.

However, I'm happy to use somebody else's solution if available. Unfortunately a lot of the solutions I was to use get sucked up by the military. Such as 5 (to 10-20) GHz FPGA, thin folded lens, 9 lens sensor. So, gone. Silicon nano wire battery is supposed to be coming, but I wonder. Commercially it isba dusater for the economy wiping out billions a year in some cases. I don't mind keeping certain weapons out of the publics hands, I do that to so it can't he found, but things that help the economy is another thing.

There are other alternatives. Look up holographic lens.

However, they don't list any DSLR, pro video or cinema camera use. So it is likely there is performance issues. So how much processing would be required to get it to a low grade of cinema or professional video, if you can?

Could Jim & Team have been trying to model light propagation like a weather system ... but in real time.

Each viewer could be a simulated 'position' (or port) into a stream of multi order differential equations.

R3D could be complimented by a new file format called R4D.. :-)

Around what feels like 6 months ago, release was imminent and we were to tell friends and family to bring out the credit cards.

Imminent in the most REDish of interpretations.
