  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New project...

Camera Replicator?

For those big light array camera rig.

HypothesizIng again. Data and communication improvements are still commercial territories exempt from regulatory approval process. Amy industry could benefit from a better communication or transmission mousetrap.

There is a lot of bandwidth room in the spectrum, but we often lack the technology to work properly at higher frequencies. So there is plenty of room there for technological advancement

Was looking at that last decade, or the decade before. Still looking at doing as have an excellent proposal. There has been solutions in the military for a decade or two. Look up heads up displays on Wikipedia.

OK I'm gonna go for SCUBA Diving Masks, for Pelicans...

OK... just because you guys are trying so hard.

4. It is not saving wildlife. Although I am fully engaged in that cause.

In 2006 I asked everyone to trust me. We delivered 4k on a compact flash card for $17,500 when Sony was selling 1080P for $225K to an SR deck.

Once again, I am asking you to trust me.

Jim

With bated breath, Jim.

With regards to the wildlife issue, could I ask that you take a peek at Chengeta Wildlife. They are funding the anti-poacher training efforts of a fellow ex-French Legionnaire by the name of Rory Young. They have the biggest hearts in the World, have a slew of unrivalled successes in Malawi alone, 82 poaching arrests in 12 days, and yet they are struggling like crazy to stay afloat. They have also just received their 501(c)(3) Charity Rating. Worth a view.

Cheers mate.
Mark.

Wayne how far are we away from a real food replicator? I've got a mean set of recipes already in XML format. How do I moderate my expectation? Could such a device be engineered?

On a different tangent, why did Jim say 'time, space, electronic'? Is that considered a cipher?

Not exactly Star Trek cafeteria, but a beginning.

On my old technology development blog years ago I used to do a few fun posts, "The ever loving spoonful of Startrek" where I would mention startrek like technology.

Startrek Enterprise was original in time line (Episode One so to speak) before replicators, so they used grown produce like what you are saying.

I've been thinking of starting my Terra forming site, and to deal with technologies to help third world and Island nations, like Fiji and smaller, be self sufficient, expand their local production, manufacturing, populations, economies and standard of living in a more ecologically friendly way. Even the cost of getting between islands is expensive, let alone bringing goods in.

Do you know, most conventional south pacific island nations are so small they can't support themselves, and depend on help from other nations like Australia and their populations going over seas to work and sending back money. A lot of these places might be a handful of square kilometers up to tens of square kilometers. Pitcairn Island, where the bounty crew settled originally was so small they faced starvation, and eventually most relocated to Norfolk island (which is even smaller). Over there they have been doing badly since the gfc and Australia has taken back administration I think by now. They are a fairly advanced island. Islands the size of Fiji 18,274 km2 or New Caledonia 18,576 km2, are rare let alone deserted ones.

The big thing is increasing landmass and fish stock. Going back into time there was a lot more landmass in the Pacific that has since submerged. Even legends of civilisations. I had a dream once of twice of a large arcing land mass past New Zealand, and found remnants of an underwater feature across that spot. Made up a fictional land mass for a story and found another one there, unknown to me. Was preparing a science fiction story and wanted my characters transported to another galaxy coming out in the distant feature, but in order to do that with the physics used there, I needed a way to slow down the travel. So I came up with a corridor of matter between the two galaxies. Turned out they discovered that these existed years afterward. In my present book, the name of the city I choose to rhyme with an English word, and the people's name, turned out to be related to an actual people of that region of the times, and the empire they were part of turned out to be related to an real empire at the location extending out to the heart of the empire, which was in the area written about. Sort of happens that way. I kid you not, I make this stuff up writing, not knowing about these things. The fact I write them is also often coincidental, a mechanism to solve something in reaction to circumstance on the spot, not something that just comes to me (got an interesting story series on technology that could control such, turns out it was related to future scientific work I have since done. I could quote an episode of a popular science fiction series that sort of deals with something remotely like it). I literally make things up in stories that are so remote and loose on precise location, that hardly anybody would know about what was there, to avoid doing the background research.

Anyway, most other food production technology is coming along. What you have linked to is the first step to something better, but the problem with many things like hydroponics, is that they generally lack the range of minerals required for the human matrix to be optimally healthy. While you can grow hydroponics with several minerals, and some might use 16, our health uses many dozens. So, while you can grow meat, so to speak, to get it more nutritious (and tasty from that) you need the right nutrient mix, and right growing conditions to get the vitamin, enzyme, amino acid, fat etc mix right (and believe me, conventional health is still going through a steep learning curve).

I was looking for an island to buy, but couldn't find one big enough. You really need something a bit smaller than Tasmania to have a self sustainable population, production, services, civilised admenmities, but as we advanced the size keeps shrinking. If you get startek like replication, you could live on small islands. In the meantime the energy efficiency and efficiency of resource use is going up to a point where we can be carbon neutral, and fairly resource independent. I'm actually working on ways to extract minerals from seal water, which would be a big plus for island populations, and would like to perfect ceramic technologies. I'm proposing local micro economies that are self sustaining, in order to increase the rate of money in economies. Oven identified a major weakness in the present economic system that should allow this today. All that is needed is investment in efficient small scale manufacture technology and systems. Most investment goes into large scale systems, so there is big room for improvements in small systems.

Anyway, I suppose I'll have to find an area of some country to invest in eventually, to do some of these things.

He, he, sounds like Muhammad A. They both knew each other. What year did he write that Kyle?

I don't have that, it is defintely lesser thanna spiritual force. What Bruce describes seems like an effect of the endogenous system and brain, a sense of Oneself, ego depending on how you take it, which Bruce dies not seem to.be portraying here. Ohh, just reread it, that's your SIG. Cursed grey backgrounds (can we get a high contrast text theme please Admin?).

Anyway Bruce was possesor of extraordinary endogenous/brain power. You could see it arc his body, where as normal high energy fighters would portray it differently on a lower level. When I get going my mental energy comes out different than.that, a lot less.

I''m pretty sure one mental illness will be the extending of your mental self image beyond yourself into the world around you, and.another so far in you you don't feel.parts of you are real, and you land up doing things like clawing yourself. The healthiest is to have a field just beyond the reach of your limbs ssy half a foot or more (though you might get a bit cocky). Absolutely beautiful stable feeling. On this anybody in this bubble becomes connected. Good gir company.

So all the talk of self enlightenment, becoming one with the whole universe sounds delusional, and I think it is caused by that. Now, Bruce's interpretation of his gift is likely something else, as it comes a different path, still an illusionary feeling though. I might feel the bubble, but I know it is not a real.bubble but a feeling. As for Bruce, I'm pretty sure some footballers over here get that. It is an often reported side effect of team sports with agresdibe trsinning and energies. I don't know if it is the same in football over there, over here it might be a bit.more energetic than brute strength Anyway, they go around causing heaps of trouble raping, etc when it gets out of control. All delusion of grandeur. Where as Bruce, from.that statement seemed to have it under control. Notbsaying he was perfect or couldn't have had attitudes, but he wasn't running around claiming he was the greatest or a god, as historic megalo maniacs do. We are who we are, and we are one of all of us (or "you"), brothers. Is the correct term.

Yeah, have a scheme, most minerals likely. I actually met a woman thatbreckon God told her that her son was the one that was going to gebkbown for extracting good from sea water, but he's a bit young to go into business with :)

Actually sea salt companies do it all the time. Sea salt is normally brownish/off color, but they extra and sell the minerals from it and sell it as white sea salt. They probably don't separate the minerals out individually cheaply. There is so much stuff that can he done to try.

I'm thinking it's nothing to do with cameras, camera accessories or optics or Red Digitial Cinema. That's already being done.

It's not something someone else is already pushing the envelope on. So nothing Elon Musk is doing. Or in the field of gimbals or drones.

Maybe 3D printing strong metal parts at an affordable price? There are already many innovations at the high end, but Red's original breakthrough was the price of entry.

It's a computer/digital wallet/ID chip implant. Upgradable. Wi-fi enabled. Who knows whatever else it can do, but far superior to whatever else is already out there.
