  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New project...

I think it's a new kind of environmentally sustainable housing unit.

like a comfortable badass tiny house that generates its own electricity and water.

or... A shrink ray that makes us smaller and the world bigger so we cause less entropy to the planet (I know that might result in a net zero result for earth's benefit ultimately though haha)

What about a new version of RedRay. After all this time we might as well skip RedRay 2, and RedRay 3D, is so old hat now.

So RedRay 4D, that can show you every movie that has yet to be made. Go through the annals of time for the best movies ever, like Mork and Albert Zap Las Vegas. What a funny 12 Oscar winner that 'will' be. Get all the then practically worthless 1000 gold pieces sent back to you through the online box office. Marvel as the price of gold sky rockets in their time zone, as everybody else does this and depletes their gold reserves, then sell it back to them at a handsome profit, only to be dismayed in the depths of despair as your new world credits evaporate, as you altered the time line too much and that future dissapeared (ironically similar to the award winning plot of Mork and Albert zap Las Vegas). Roll up, roll up, folks, come on down to the latest greatest show on Reduser.

Dream of doing something and turn in your Redray 4D to watch future news reports to see if you were successful. Marvel how each time it tells you that you are going to be bigger than Jim, that time line collapses after the iu try it from the Butterfly Observer affect. Watch some other version if you get all the women, fa.e big house, ten ferraies and hummers fir your babes, the presidency of the United State, realising if you never turned the thing on you would be that guy, but now you seen it, you never will. Try, and see if you can beat the Observor effect, play Russian roulette with your life choices, see if you can WIN (until you realise everybodies else's Observor Effect keeps destroying your time line)....

Too much Pi in the sky maths, if you ask me.

It may not be a single product but rather part of a unity system. Starting with a point and shoot camera or mobile attached capture device that integrates with a modular docking/presentation station HD, 4K, projection. The docking station interfaces with a tablet or phone to organize, edit, playback and organize footage.

I have not read the whole thread but my guess would be an affordable long term storage solution.

Augmented Reality Contact Lenses that also double as vision enhancement contacts that have on-the-fly, adjustable ISO settings to improve your low light vision. Prepare to get a good look at the inside of your eye lids.

Yeah, wanted to do that too, but most processing us too much for that space, so worked on some alternatives and also alternatives to it. Problem is cancer risk and frying your eyeballs. I doubt Jim has a solution for it, a bit tricky.

Hey do you suppose Jim actually had a new project or do think he was looking for ideas, knows how much we love to wildly speculate and after reading this he now has like 12 new projects ideas to work on?

:) this was said in jest. I don't think Jim would really do that.

Thought the same thing myself back on page 11 of the thread:
Also, this type of thread is genius level idea mining. Why do I see Mr. Jannard following this thread while sitting in a huge comfy chair with a fist full of cash surrounded by engineers & every time a good idea pops up he turns to them, cigar clenched in his teeth & excitedly asks, 'think we could pull that one off' while throwing money at them.

Is it bad form to quote yourself?

It has to do with space. And travel. And time. And electronics.

Get ready to place your deposit. It will be guaranteed by me.

Jim

That "guaranteed by me" line keeps churning in my brain. It says Jim is perhaps the largest or one of the largest, backers of a big time project. This also says to me that it is not camera related (at least not conventional camera-related) as he has the means to accomplish something like that by himself.

Space, Travel, Time, Electronics are for all practical purposes a RED herring as those terms are open to almost infinite interpretations.

All the above do not get me to knowing what his project is but it gets me closer by knowing more about what it probably isn't.

Having just read a headline about Space Based Power Satellites, I wonder if it's not a start-up for that tech?

Money Trees?

But then again, I may just be stoned....

Good reasoning.
Thanks Marc.

Heh, If that's what floats your boat, then I'm all for you. Just pleeeeeeezzzzz don't have any kids if your boat is floated by marijuana... at least, according to this.

Maybe I should do a documentary called Stoners, about the funny things that people do while stoned and the tragic downside of the drug. How much to license cheech and chong footage, and that bus.

Thanks Marc.

Interesting show last night quoted scientific opinion that we are white because we eat grains and don't get enough vitamin d3. Wherever this is supposed to be through natural selection or mutation I don't know. Food and environment can cause affects on epi genetics, but I wonder what the real dominating path to mutations is. Let's see, if you have a mutation you csnbudeally double your population say every 30 years, that is around 33 doublings every thousand years, or a reach of 8 billion individuals. The affect isso strong that intra breeding once in s hundred years with another population can result in significant change in a village over a thousand years. So I've read. So all these tens of thousands years quoted are not needed, even a few thousand years might effectively reach hundreds of millions, or billions, of people in the less ideal world. But the point is, dies epi genetics result in permanent gene selection on the germ line, and even result in mutations on those lines.

Where does one go to investigate this new idea?

There will be many studies on this, and I can just interview friends etc who can give a contrast of how it affected them and how they are doing off of it. It's the spin you put on it, the direction and depth and style. Like why film another romantic comedy, action film, drama or other, because it is not being new that people watch, but different stories.

I'm not saying that all the stuff is bad, but like societies blatant disregard of the use of sugar, their are accumulative affects. Like I turned on the TV and speaker system from the side button late at night after bed time, but the volume was turned up, and it was some guy suddenly talking about he used to nasterbate so much when he was young he is still scarred, and I could not find the remote to switch it over or turn down the volume with the neighbours listening to this. Like 'Shit, shit where is that thing'. :)

but did you not think of the flip side that I also may NOT be? Just a ruse to camouflage my somewhat fertile imagination. And yes I do have a son, and he's perfect...

Jim, here's another film recommendation, if you haven't seen it - it's on the festival circuit - I just saw it tonight at Mountainfilm in Tellluride.

Another save the planet film which is getting a lot of traction right now. Shot in part in Vanuatu and Samoa, so might be of particular interest. By the director of the Gasland films....this one has a pretty unique take and message.
