  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New project...

I am now telling the computer the hints that Jim gave us...

Tim feeding in Jim's measurements is not necessarily going give an answer. :)

Hello!

Actually I'm not replying to this post but as a new comer into the forum, I just want to say hello to you old folks.

Thanks

OK so gimmee the news already....

since it costs nothing to guess, I have a new guess to add to my queue.

I guess Jim and Co. are working on a voice synthesizer that will cause your words to emulate those of the star of your choice. That is, you could sound like John Wayne, Mae West, Jimmy Stewart, Julie London, Willie Nelson, Rickie Nelson, Elvis, Richard Nixon, Elizabeth Taylor, and so on and so on...

Probably the only hold-up for releasing this app or software or hardware... whatever its form... is getting a license from all the famous people it would emulate.

What if it's a 4K laser projector for $10,000? I kid, I kid. No really. Where is my projector!?

Elsie, we think alike. I was just thinking the other day that actors need to be advised to secure their own likeness rights for future use. To setup scanning of their own image. It is possible to capture an actor's image, character and even personality and acting style from existing film into a computerised actor that can be reused in the future until the end of the age. Eventually you can have thousands and millions of the most interesting actors in video/film history to use together anyway you wish on your production, in some holodeck like environment.

Unfortunately you need somebody like me that thinks up these things and how to do them. Fortunately there is somebody like that who works in 3D capture with Red equipment that suddenly went quiet last year. He is veey adequate for the job and not many are anywhere near that, you are talking one in a thousand plus people, one in a million probably to get really good. The setup framework and infrastructure design is the difficult thing, its not just his to get a likeness butnwhat to do with it, how to get it to act. After that is established, then it becomes easy to scan and get the digital actor to act, where a good one in a thousand technician can shine.

What about something like the Lytro camera but in a RED/Cinema Camera package? That technology could (eventually) turn every object in frame into a 3D object capable of being duplicated, deleted, or altered however you see fit. Scanning in of actors is just photogrammetry. That's been used in video games for 5 years. Getting them to act is just mo cap and that's been around even longer. I wouldn't call any of that game changing unless there was an all in one software/hardware solution that made it easier.

Lytro idea was rejected here. Red has claimed to have a single lens 3D firmware update years ago. A few years ago I questioned publicly carefully on several method I came up with, leaving out the best methods I came up with (the taking photos at multiple focal points, is now in the market). From Jim's statement here, it might have something to do with one of my more advanced 3D mechanisms.

So, would you believe that I met with Jim this week after he traveled back in time from 2028 after his time machine design got delayed?

Well Jim has an island, he has mentioned the african animals & extinction problems ... my guess is bringing back the mammoth ? (I think it would be a bit too over the top to bring back dinosaurs, but that would fit)

Actually, the most well preserved Dinosaur DNA is from America discovered within the last 10 years or 6, something like that. But if you have a time machine..

Actually while looking for sensors for my own camera stuff, I've seen 6k Chips listed by the new owners of Aptina or Omni vision, I forget which. I've actually had a guy asking me to do a camera (get a few of these and am pretty dubious about them now) but unfortunately I could not get any answers to kick things off. Pretty much believe it when I see it happening these days (So if anybody else contacts me remember this it requires backing, action and somebody to do the indepth expert technical work I'm leaving alone these days since being sick).

So, I can tell you its possible for Red to do a 6k 60fps camera phone, but unless you can do redray/cineform like compression its not that desirable on a large market to do lossless/near lossless. But there is the rub, getting an engine that can do redray in a phone, cineform probably yes.

OK, read it. Given it is real, it looks very much like my past work I've mentioned (but their own spin), except they have made an slight error a generation behind my finale design, that will affect it. But that is pretty good, not many people get this close in isolation.

So, a hybrid liquid multi focal very fast low profile lens , and speed booster version uoto medium formst, I'd be happy to have at the right price. Of course I would want live 7-28gb/s wireless off load to a conventional raid system for any quality work.

So a m4/3rds might he needed to hit 16 stops on the latest sensor tech (dragon run 2).

This might be done this or next year. In deed, it might be a very jolly holliday season.

I'm gonna say an entry into the Sports Action Cam market.....

I have not read all the thread but is there any hint its "camera" related at all?
