More than only the headset, it is the content being shown. How does a headset do this exactly?
Not sure if I read this or if I saw it in a Ted Schilowitz TED talk, but the message was that when you experience something in augmented/virtual reality the experience is so vivid that you retain much, much more. The statement was that if you watch a movie on a movie screen, in a couple of days you will remember you watched a movie and probably some high points of the movie. But if you watch the same movie virtually, you remember almost everything about the movie.
Imagine a child with lexDysia. Put them in a virtual learning experience and they retain everything. Emotional vs rote learning. Maybe even abstract vs concrete learning and thinking.
Brain changing (literally, physical brain changes) experience.
ADDITIONAL: Wouldn't it be cool if one day we could identify children genetically prone to become serial killers, and through an intervention such as augmented reality we were able to change their brain at a younger age when the brain has more plasticity?
