  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New project...

Intriguing... But I'm betting that's not it.

So do you think what they are talking about is a mobile 3D device? : ) OR is it to do with control using hand motions?

The smartphone patent that's cruising the internets, although modular and seemingly able to record 6K,
doesn't seem that significant to me at the moment. So I'd rather believe that to be a part of the RED ecosystem.

If it's not a flux capacitor or a Tardis –and his first line truly makes it sound like exactly that ;) what are we left with?
Especially if everybody can place a deposit.

Maybe it's space travel for everyone. Maybe it will be the re-invention of planes. Maybe finally someone figured teleportation without the fly part.

And maybe it's the VR system that's being assumed as you mentioned, that will allow you to go wherever you want, whenever you want - at least virtually ;)

I think the space, travel, and time. and electronics definitely foretell augmented reality.

And I agree it will change everything. We as world populations will be divided into those who adapt to it and those who try to hold onto the past. The perfect outcome would be for the latter to adapt to the augmented/virtual reality to actually live in the past... in an augmented way.

But the most important change this will bring will be in the dissemination of knowledge. School is fixed and no child shall have a learning impairment.

What was it Einstein said? "Reality is only an illusion albeit a very persistent one." I think augmented/virtual reality will prove that to be true.

Yup. That's what I'll be guessing, too – at least for now. And there's also been other hints that pointed to it.
But to me, it simply being VR is missing something crucial. VR is (theoretically) here – ok, as were digital cine cameras at the time ;)
But still if it is VR, what makes his new project so amazingly different? Maybe the 6K smartphone is part of the system. But still...

I agree that it doesn't appear to be something new on the outside, but I'm thinking that the revelation will be how it affects our brain. I.e. neural imprinting of some form or fashion. For the majority, (something for everyone) it may simply be a way to entertain.

For the visionaries, it will be this generation's LSD, but hopefully without the "bad trip" side effects.

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS: You live in a climate that isn't extreme, so you do not have air conditioning. During a rare heat wave, what do you do? You go into your augmented reality of a cool place and your brain tells your body that you are cool. Big savings on buying an air conditioning unit for the outlier to the normal temp, and an energy savings as well (depending on the cost of running the virtual reality program. '-)

Or your body is feeling slightly out of kilter. You enter a whole body virtual reality and your own body self-diagnoses your problem (for the very aware) and takes steps to correct the problem. Doctors become augmented reality programmers for the most part. Health care costs become very affordable.
