  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New project...

Politics? A third party bid? Jarred as your VP pick?

Actually, my real guess is that Jim is designing a high end, American super car...and the "lunch" he'll be eating is a significant market share from top end manufacturers like Aston Martin, et al. If not...he should.

Trees? '-)

Haha - fair point. Maybe its tiered tree farming? 50 stories of trees per acre? In the amazon. Massive "lots" of trees that rise up 1000 feet into the air, and suck up all the C02 and cure global warming?

What we are working on is truly significant. It will change the way we all do things for sure. It will not save the planet, cure cancer or give one immortality. I wish we could do any of those things.

The RED One did not save the world. But it changed the imaging world forever. This new project will affect everyone in a major way. That is about all we can do...

I appreciate everyone's support and belief that we are no longer a scam. And at some point we will be calling for deposits on something you know nothing about. :-)

Looking forward to it.

My life was changed when I bought a RED.

I'm certainly eyes open looking forward to what you do next.

At the risk of sounding repetitive from my facebook post last month. "Where do I send my money" :)

That's the best answer one could possibly give to anyone who's positing 'carbon sequestration'. :-)

Perhaps tangential, but energy conservation and reducing fossil fuel consumption move all the needles in the right direction. Everything is interrelated. Energy conservation is preemptive carbon sequestration and offsets tree loss. The portal that tracks my solar system presents total carbon offset and mature tree equivalency as a way to measure impact.

Not a stellar day today due to cloud cover, but our family system is close to the 50,000 kWh milestone.

Whether it's a technical product, content that touches hearts and changes minds, a foundation that serves as a unifier and force multiplier for significant change, I'm excited by the prospect of disruptive change that positively impacts our stewardship of the planet.

But whatever Jim is working, it's not going to be boring :)

Well done, sir.

The projector-on-a-car caught my eye.

In re: saving wildlife, I once wrote the way to save the Whooping Crane would be to issue hunting stamps, much like a Duck stamp. Of course no one would be able to actually hunt them until they reached a certain level of population. The revenue from the Whooping Crane stamp would provide the large amount of money required to reach those levels, someday. Government funding has kept the population stabilized, but private work could probably help them thrive.

I believe hunters who are dedicated sportsmen are some of our better conservationists.

Disclaimer: I have guns in my house that haven't been fired in years. I still hunt... with a camera.

It is my hope that you will open up the call for deposits here on REDuser first. After Bernie Madoff it should be near impossible to get anyone to put down a deposit on something we know nothing about.

But you are not Bernie Madoff, and your track record will have you covered up in deposits immediately. Please have the infrastructure in place to handle the volume.

Space?

Space?

Has anyone proposed something to do with Space travel/exploration? Lot of work with NASA lately and all this talk of beating extinction and...i don't know...just a thought (that is thinking bigger though :) )

Unfortunately, most hunters are trophy hunters who rely on trucks to get them to their prey.

But you're right, the ones who only kill for food want their prey to survive. They practice Leave No Trace ethics, and never shoot unless they're certain of a clean kill. They support environmentalism because part of their joy comes from being in the wilderness.

Cameras are my preferred hunting tools as well. We should save the guns for those who deserve them, i.e. politicians ;)

Going back to sunglasses...
Breaking up the Luxotica monopoly.
Anybody see the "60 Minutes" article?
Now there's a challenging project.
