  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New project...

My top 5 guesses:

1. Time Travel
2. The forever battery. Never dies, never needs to recharge. Run your camera forever.
3. Reality Recorder. You won't be able to tell what's reality and what's not.
4. Extreme Remote Commander. Transmit camera controls and power at extreme distances
5. The Afterlife Portal. Jim has found a way to tap into the afterlife and record it.

It's moments like these where I just want to crack a beer, sit back, and enjoy the show....

The biggest problem in the world today is energy dependency. I'm going with a free energy system for every home. Something that de-centralizes the need to be close to an urban center and allows one to live comfortably on a small South Pacific island, without compromise or pollution or ripping up our ozone. Like the Powerwall, which we all wish we had, but don't....

That and mortality. An Elixir of Life or a Fountain of Youth would be swell. If anyone can.....
 
Philanthropic. Humanitarian initiatives. Saving the planet what we all need. I'm all out of guesses, just will have to wait to the official announcements.
 
If I was a betting man and seeing as Jim doesn't like to sit by idly and accept the status quo, I'd think it would be some kind of disruptive tech/bio so my guesses:

1. Hyper efficient solar panels the likes of which the world has never seen
2. Synthetic meat substitute that tastes no different than the real thing that has additional health benefits
3. He solved the gravity equation (I'll put my $1,000 down for one of the first tickets to Edmunds planet - kids under 3 fly free right?)
4. Reveal that he is a love child of alien lineage (as is Musk), both sent to Earth to save us from destroying ourselves
5. The Matrix

If this is about saving the planet's wildlife, I am all in. My Weapon has been shooting elephant conservationists all of last week and is shooting a rare species of worms this weekend. How can I help? Can I help?

This month marks the 15 year anniversary that I have worked for Jim. Add in the 15 years my wife has as of last month, safe to say we are all in with Jim.

If he invited me to a meeting with a unicorn, the Loch Ness Monster, and a yeti, I would not be surprised. I would just ask Elvis to pass me the hot sauce and start to take notes...
 
Clean fuel.... solar, water, hydrogen? Flying cars, boats, bikes, cameras, sunglasses? :) Super excited to know.
 
This program will get the the livestock off the planet. But there will be a way that barbecues still persist.

If this will be achieved we will lose more than 20% of greenhouse gas emissions of today, 70% of the fields of the world will be free for sustainable crop plants, the green forest will be rescued and regions for reforestation will be available. The feeding of the next 3 Billion humans to come has a chance to be achieved and the upcoming flows of refugees won't become a scriptual dimension in the history of man beyond words.

Ok a slightly more green list of guesses :

+) Structural insulation panels that interconnect, and accept active replaceable exterior panel surface.
Exterior surface could be :
- Solar (eg Perovskites or Organic) cells to use the outside of building surface area collect energy.
- Super Capacitors to store energy locally.
- Titanium Dioxide (or similar) to remove impurities (pollution) from the air.
- Wireless transievers that work in conjunction with other buildings to create super hi speed network, leveraging multiple internet connections to scale transmission to existing IP backbone.
- Solar assisted water spitter that creates hydrogen & oxygen for fuel, and Clean burning to make pure water.
- Option for Solar cells in strategic places to provide augmented lighting (reducing the burden on a counties grid)

+) Satellite : That interfaces with Wifi panels :-)

When Im not filmmaking and I change my daily routine I have the craziest ideas in my fathers lab :-)

-superconductor at room temperature (would revolutionize every electronic device)
-accelerator for fuel rods to reduce their half-life period for nuclear waste
-much more efficient electric drive (Elon Musk could really benefit from this just don't know how to approach him)

Jim, are we thinking big enough :-)
 
Jim, you have revolutionized Digital Cinema, what ever this new idea is. I can tell it's going to be revolutionary. When I was a kid, RED One was released. I was really impressed with what it could do. Since then I said to myself that I will be able to afford a RED camera. Once Raven was released, I had to get on board! I am so happy to be apart of this community. I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us! When abouts do you think you'll create the release?
