Hi Everyone,
Few weeks ago I took the plunge and purchased a RED One. The camera (#6608) is already waiting for me in Miami (I live in Venezuela) and in two weeks I will be traveling there to pick it up, then a three day tour in L.A. (one day for RED Store to buy some accessories). And finally one day stop at BH in NY to buy some other stuff I need. Short trip but intense.
So I had the chance to work on a couple of projects shot on RED, and been reading these pages a lot, but I have some doubts, and probably many more to come…
First, what do you guys recommend for a CF card reader ? I would like FW800, but don’t know about brands or models. I have read about people with damage files, which could have been caused by a crappy card reader.
Second, the process of changing the mounts, PL to Nikon, back and forth. Is this something I can do by myself ? as often as I want ? or it’s something complicated that needs some sort of calibration every time I do it ? Please remember I live in Venezuela, so If I screw it, there is no “sending the camera overnight for fix at RED”.
I guess that’s all by now, am gonna have a really hard time for sleeping the next two weeks !
thanks, Marcos
