  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Music Video Shot On RED

Nice :) What glass did you use?

And what about the lighting rigs behind them? Did you guys make those and run them through a master dimmer or something?

Thanks! I believe the glass was Zeiss Std Speeds used in conjunction with Century Optics Swing and Shift's. The ghost spot lights were custom made by the production designer and ran through 2 separate dimmers. I believe you can see some behind the scenes here if you are interested that may contain some further info. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUKnw35Yihs&feature=channel

Thanks for checkin it out!

Hey everybody! My name is Jason Hafer. I am the DP that shot the video. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone in the forum for their kind words regarding the look of the video. It was my first time working with the Red and I must say I'm very impressed with the camera. I think Brian answered most of your questions already but just in case he missed anything here are the details.

We shot the video in 4k 2:1

We Used a combination of Zeiss Standard Lenses & Century Swing and Shift Lenses

We Edited the video in Apple Pro Res 4:2:2 using FCP

We Colored the video using Color

We had all the lights ran through 2 12k dimmers that were being controlled by 2 different people simultaneously

Also... All the TV shots were accomplished in camera. We shot the band performing from scewed angles using 3 DVX100's, then played the images back through the TV's during the shots where the monitors were flickering in and out. 3 people were on the ground manipulating the wired going to the TV to make real image flicker and static.

I think that's all for now. Feel free to ask any more questions if you have them. Again, thanks for the compliments.

-Jason
