  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Movcam Epic gear

Ahhh Anton Bauer. Sadly I am entirely V Lock. Once you invest in one system, it is so expensive to change over. All the V Locks are big and ungainly on the tiny Epic.
 
The 90 watt ones are small. Check out paglink or global media pro. 90watt with lcd power display
 
Yes Pag are expensive but very clever. Also check out Sony's new Olivine batteries they launched with the F55. they are thicker than Dionic 90's but pretty compact.
Apparently dont run much longer than equivalent batteries but charge much faster
 
Thanks for the battery tips. I will have a look. It is strange that Red went with the tiny little battery system. They need to rethink their powering strategies.

movcam sell their own dovetail which is actually better for lightweight use.

What was the final cost on each item? I still can't seem to navigate their site to find the cost of these things.
 
My China connection says, but this is the price if you buy in China only.
LSW Base Plate: RMB 1650
Shoulder Pad: RMB 1050
Dovetail: RMB 680
They don't ship to US but if you have someone in China the it is a very good deal.
 
I am not sure they will, I requested to ship either Nepal or US but they denied.

I just ordered this setup based on movcam telling me that it was arri compatible. I certainly hope that's the case!
Does anyone know for sure?
 
Mmm... I hope you are right, they told me it was NOT Arri compatible... Please let us know when you find out.
