new Mac Pro video cards.

Hi,

apple have just released new video cards for the mac pro, namely the Nividia 8800GT.

i know that consensus is to get an ati card for macs because the drivers are better, but with them now releasing this card, do you think the drive situation will improve?

also, is this card a big enough step up from the ATI X1900XT for me to see reductions in render times using REDCINE using the current drivers?

Glad you asked this. The new Mac Pros looks great, but the most expensive card by miles is the top-of-the-range Nividia. Do we still assume that a much, much cheaper ATI is better for Redcine than anything from Nividia? I want this new Mac Pro, but haven't a clue which card to stick in there. I know from past experience that most expensive isn't always best. Anybody at Red tested one of these yet?
