Has anyone ever thought that maybe Apple has actually talked to Adobe and BMD? There are a few months until this is released and, unbelieveable to some, things tend to evolve over time.

Blackmagic and Matrox already have thunderbolt video cards who has used them?

Both support OpenCL processing too, hopefully this announcement means that OpenCL support will be beefed up in Adobe and BMD products, I suspect that thsoe GPUs will probably have a enough kick for 4K 25fps real time in Resolve.

Naaah... if you've talked to vendors who have worked with Apple over the past decade, a recurring tale is that no matter how huge you are, they're still often treated like someone off the street. Anything from dropping XServe all of a sudden, to dragging their feet for years on the >4GB Quicktime export bug that haunts Adobe users to this day.Has anyone ever thought that maybe Apple has actually talked to Adobe and BMD?
With how many nodes?
You can get an Intel integrated GPU that has can play 4K 25fps. That in of itself is not a big deal.
Apple may have talked to Adobe and BMD... but I bet they didn't listen that hard.
Otherwise they would have made a slightly larger system with two PCIe slots - so you could plug in two nVidia Titans. And then replace those with Titan 2's in a year's time.
This way makes Apple more money because the Mac Pro gets obsolete faster.

There is one thing that could put the iTUBE (I love that) back on track...
PCIe GEN4
"Up to 7 teraflops of computing power"
Great.
A SINGLE Radeon 7990 can already do 8.2 teraflops according to AMD.
So this will be another one of those "really expensive 12-core Xeons coupled with OK but not great GPU performance" releases.
Should be fine for guys doing FCP X. For heavier stuff... ouch ouch ouch.
The only reason this thing will seem faster is because the old Mac Pro is several generations behind.
