Currently the WC and ProAim director monitor cages have a 5/8 hole for mounting to a light-stand. However, you're limited to a vertical alignment and there is no way to lock the mount i.e. your rig will spin freely.

Below is a 3D-printed prototype of a new quick-release plate that mounts to the bottom of your cage in seconds and comes with an integrated Matthews 5/8 pin. This way you mount and lock to a C-stand knuckle at any angle. You can even under-sling the rig if preferred.

Feedback always welcome :)

That's GREAT!

BUT I still think a quicker solution would be a 15mm clamp and the Berkey Systems 15mm to 3/8 rod adapter... ;)

This way you don't have to unscrew 2 screws or keep a potential killing weapon under your monitor. ;)

A simple knob twist and the 15mm clamp release the 15mm part of the stud, leaving it on the stand.

Maybe you could design a (central!) 15mm clamp to attach neatly (and firmly with 2 screws!) to the cage and sell it as a package with the 15mm to 3/8 16 stud...
