Here's a link to a new PSA spot that I had the good fortune to direct,.

We were tasked by our client to recreate the look/feel of Richard Avedon's "In the American West", so, we shot one subject each day at the same time, using raw daylight and a white background.

Lenses used were Zeiss Arri Standard Primes 50 and 75mm at f5.6.

Edited and final 10bit CC in AVID Symphony

Your feedback is most welcome!

Enjoy!

Thanks, Samir.

It is amazing what unlimited creativity can be unleashed with the MX sensor and REDCode.

BRAVO, RED!

Nice work Brandon!

What was your setup in relation to the sun like? (midday overhead?) You got a good exposure on talent and white background, not easy to do with just the sun...

Thanks, Matt!

We shot at 10:30 every morning for 12 days, last month for about an hour each day.

The sun was fairly direct through a wall of windows with a Southern exposure.

There's been no secondary color correction to "dodge" or "burn" the image..what you see if pretty much what we got.

Used well, FilmConvert is nothing short of amazing. :)

Brandon, looks fantastic. Love the detail in the faces. I'm in San Diego as well and going to Irvine tomorrow to pick up my new BT Red One. A little excited.....

Hey Chris,

Good to meet a neighbor!

RED Irvine is SUCH a cool place too...you have every reason to be excited as hell. :)

Hey Brandon, Likewise. I might hit you up for tech advice some time? :-) I am up in the Carlsbad/ San Marcos area.

Only thing that bums me out is they don't have my Nikon Mount allocated yet so I can't put a lens on it!

Hey Brandon, I saw this on a local station here in San Diego a couple days ago. It looked great!
