New HDSDI video assist system.

I am heading up the design of a new HD microwave system which will be designed with the Red camera in mind.
Our current brochure can be downloaded from www.boxx.tv . Click the centre flash display.
Below is a list of features we are working on. Please contact me if you have any ideas on the features RED camera owners are looking for. I would welcome input from members of this forum.

BOXX.HD
Under 1 frame delay
SDI/HDSDI in-out
Composite in-out
HD simaltaniously down converted to composite
Embedded audio
Analogue Audio in-out
Headphone monitoring on receiver
60m range with handheld receiver
200m range with Hi Gain Receiver
Use Anton / V-Lok plates or no plates
USB port for manual configuration and firmware upgrade
6-36V DC power in
one transmitter can be viewed by many receivers

Please contact me on scott@boxx.tv.
Many thanks

We will have a working demo at Cinegear in June and look forward to meeting you all then.

Price guide:
Transmitter $5000USD
Hand held receiver $3000USD
6 way diversity broadcast receiver TBA.

My only suggestion would be to make it.

It sounds wonderful.

Hi Scott,

I had the pleasure of meeting you at NAB and had a great time discussing the future of wireless HD together! I voiced a lot of ideas/concerns with you at that time, but it seems like your feature list is pretty much perfect as you have it. I enjoyed the demo and really like the uncompressed nature of the stream. As a Steadicam operator, the only thing I can really continue to stress is keep it small, keep it light, and keep it quality! It seems that there are a couple of new entries in this market coming soon so you won't be without competition, but that in mind I think you will have a lot of interested customers if you do this right.

All the best,

Häakon

Guys! Look at www.idx.tv They presented HDSDI transmitter and receiver for 6000$ list. Only 1 milisecond delay.

How did you find out what it cost?
thanks
Robert

*Frequency agility is very important for outside of USA customers.

*Some kind of traffic light led that gives indication of signal strength, something that would help numpties figure out which way to orientate the reciever aerials.

*A led on the reciever that comes and stays on if the carrier is disrupted.

* High tech idea :) buffer option for non live work.

* Optional case with V locks both sides so it can be sandwiched between camera and battery

* Clever built in frame so diversity aerials can be extened

* Upgradeable to cope with syncronised dual stream

* Able to transmit REDcode :)

What kind of frequency does it broadcast over? Are we looking at rock steady signals?

The system Operates on the license exempt 5.1 - 5.8GHz channels

Many thanks for all your feed back and I look forward to seeing some of you at Cinigear.

Hi Scott.
These specs are outdoor line of sight, right?
A little low compared to the SD versions 350m w. handheld and 3,5 km with Hi gain :-(

Do you have info on performance for indoor use (walls etc.)?

Can you comment on how we should expect the signal stability to be with the lower latency.

Can't wait to try this in practice:-)

I talked to these guys along with Bri Ferg from RED at NAB. He was asking about it for the Helo rig in the RED Booth.

Hi

Please make it moisture, dust and splash proof. Lemo or fisher plug for power.

And please protect it against de-poling (diode). My last transmitter blew up because the rental house changed the plus and minus on the accessory power-outlets of one of their clambshells.

Great HD SDI system

Great HD SDI system

We use the Canobeam DT-150 HD.

Very nice product. It's got uncompressed two-way, high-bandwidth (HD-SDI and SD-SDI) digital video transmission for situations where fiber-optic cables or microwave links are impractical or impossible.

We have a large medical campus and it serves us quite well.
