  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New German Primes: Price below 10.000 per set.

After longer talks with the manufacturers i can now confirm:
The prime set will be priced below 10.000€.
€.€€€ for the 1.7/1.9 Arri PL prime set.

More news within the next days. We have to respect our NDA, but after a month with these new German prime lenses i can surely say that its worth the wait.

yes, <10.000 for a set.
The "whole" set, which starts with a very wide 1x angle and proceeds to very long angle in 5mm steps however... wont sell for <9.999€
 
Wow! Did you say FULL set? as in 5 primes? That is $13,485 right now! ($6,500 less than Red's set if it is in fact 5 lenses)
That sounds crazy low for any PL set! I can't wait to hear more once they get reviewed!
It will be interesting to see what happens once they go head to head.

Could you please explain this a bit more. Sorry if I don't follow, but what is a 1x angle? And I suppose by "long angle" you mean narrow. I don't mean to be a pest, just want to make sure I understand.
 
I presume 1x means "some focal length between 10mm and 19mm" which his NDA prevents him from being more specific about (?)

Ok, I wondered if it was some basic knowledge I wasn't aware of.
So we just got confirmation that the set starts at or wider than 19mm, that is great news. : )

Can we get confirmation on the number of lenses included in the set being 5?
 
Very cheap! When are they going to begin selling and more important when are they going to ship?
 
What does around the corner mean? Tomorrow? Summer? Fall? Winter?

will they be shipped from inside the USA or shipped from Germany?

Well, if you order today, you will get lenses within weeks. For the standard series however, it might take 70-80 days to delivery.

I don't mean to nag with a question that has an obvious answer, but will it be 5 primes in the set?

If you can't say that is perfectly fine with me. I just figured since you said "set" that you may be able to confirm that and since it might be the only other piece ofinfo you'll be able to share I though I'd ask before turning the computer off.
