We just got the first prototype done of our 15mm lightweight bracket that mounts directly to the front of the Red One. Just like our the Hybrid it uses any standard 15mm iris rod including our Ultra Rods. As always, its precision machined from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum. The one you see is not anodized yet, but it will be anodized black.

To install it, you simply remove 4 body screws from the front of the camera, and then attach the rod bracket with 4 x 3mm socket cap screws.

Very nice and cute..

It looks almost like a Long Valley's Lightweight Rod Support for R1 plus RED's 15MM Adaptor together.

Have a look:

View Factor Origo Record start/stop button, ActionProducts RaidRack, Allstar top plate & side handle rod, Rode-NTG3 condenser mic,...

Yeah, Sanjin is right it pretty much looks just like the 15mm lightweight mount Douglas / Long Valley has.

Anyway, I'm more interested in that mount...

Edit> Jason & Mark are faster...

Is it called the 'LongValley'? :-)

That's a 35mm still camera lens. An Arri 10mm will cover 4k on the RED1 camera with very good rectilinear correction. I'm not taking anything away from the Voigtlander but it is not the shortest focale length with square corners out there for the RED1

Yep. The voigtlander is probably the widest non-fisheye that covers full frame 35. But on S35 or RED One, etc.. There are a lot of other shorter focal length lenses that cover and in turn give wider angles of view on the smaller format.

the widest rectilinear lens I know of for S35 is the Arri UltraPrime 8R. It gives a 114 degree horizontal angle of view on ANSI S35. This Voigtlander would only yield something like 91 degrees on S35.

...Didn't we just have this discussion in like 3 other threads this past week?

I think that would be a "for rental lens only" lens mount. ;-)

Price? Availability? And does the camera still fit in the RED case without hitting the foam?
