  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Firmware

Startup time around 28/30 sec. on my Epic-W.
Waiting for Helium Color...

Boot time on Epic-W seems quite a bit faster for me, though! Anyone else?

Also mine Luca but after they saw the log file they asked me to send it back, I HIGHLY suggest you to send them the log file when the camera don't recognize the handle, it can be defective, so better you change in case something happen in the future.

yes, if the sidehandle become unresponsive again, I will send the log file to my bombsquad rep.
I had this problem only 3 times... I think was firmware related, but never say never (sadly) :-)

Yhea I had this happened four times then I sent the log file when I had the problem and it is indeed a problem with the side handle...I suggest you to keep checking you don't want to keep something faulty...better to solve the issue asap ;)
 
Got excited about color for a minute. The wait continues!
 
I've got a couple projects shooting this upcoming week and have not run into any issues outside of some stuttering on my monitor, but that is minor. Would love to hear some folks sound off about whether the update is going well for them before I load on. Would hate to mess something up before a busy week.

Same, shoot coming up.. really had my hopes up. Didn't someone have an alpha that fixed the color shift? I was kind of expecting that to be implemented
 
Correct, don't get too excited on this one. Just a few minor fixes. More exciting stuff this month though : )
 
Boot time about the same with side handle attached (53 seconds to menu screen). Certainly not any faster.

In my case, I was seeing boot times around a minute or more on the previous build. But then I had to send in my camera for evaluation. Once it got home, the new update was available so I immediately updated without even trying anything else.

And now it boots in 40 seconds.

So I can't confirm if the faster boot is from Red's repairs, or the new firmware. But either way it's down considerably for me.
 
Has this new update been pretty stable for everyone's Epic-W?

I have a shoot coming up, and I'm trying to avoid any surprises, haha. Not sure how much testing time I'll have between now and then.
