  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NEW Final Cut to be Announced at NAB?

That was the biggest waste of an EVENING in a while. I can't believe AVID won. I guess Apple didn't give a SH*T anymore... I am going to say this again. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED. BTW all the ProApps DVDSP, COLOR, MOTION are dead, dead, dead, dead..

Alex, what on earth did you want?

Yeah, none of that can possibly be informed opinion, because we have very little information at this point. We've seen a trade show demo. You want to maybe at least wait for detailed product info to go up on Apple's site before you declare the software useless?

Been watching the a Live Video Podcast. Looks more like iMOVIE X than a new Final Cut Pro. All the HYPE is really that, HYPE. Sorry APPLE, end of the Road for you guys, and if it takes another 6 years for an update??? Then we are surely using AVID and Adobe Premiere from now on. DANG!! I am disappointed!!

Am so glad your disappointed, maybe now you can skip this forum and go complaint somewhere else. And BTW, take your BS with you. How can you give even a comment about the product without using the product, or even watching the presentation. BTW there was no live stream so I don't know what you saw.

Maybe its your firewall?

Again, Alex. Instead of complaining, tell me what you had wanted that you didn't get and your post might be more intelligent sounding.

I'm primarily interested in better stability. But I absolutely love the no rendering, no transcoding of any footage (if that works, the real time audio syncing without Plural Eyes, the color match between clips, the new "compound clips" which seems better than nesting, in timeline color correction with secondaries, etc.

So what is it you wanted?

Something like SMOKE for OS X, but with batch, only better since Steve Jobs made it.

It supposedly fixes gamma issues and it processes everything in linear float. Assuming there aren't critical feature omissions somewhere (which is not impossible, but there is no specific reason to believe it's true at this time), this already makes it a more credible online editing tool than earlier versions of FCP ever were.

Sorry, but people are silly when they want everything possible in one app. Audio is different than editing. Editing is different than finishing/grading. Yes, some of them can be improved and crossed over, but there will ALWAYS be room for an app that specializes in each. It's just silly to think otherwise.

I don't know about you, but for $299 that sounds pretty good.

And it doesn't sound like the Pro Apps are dead. It sounds like Apple is really pushing the use of the App Store. This could mean that they might be able to release Pro Apps separately as opposed to one package. Think about logging onto your Mac and instantly downloading Color for about $100. Its all speculation but you have to admit it'd be pretty cool.
