We've just put up a beta of the next version of the After Effects / Premiere Pro plugin version of FilmConvert.

It now supports hardware acceleration, so should be realtime (in premiere at least).

Also new is a 3 way color corrector and levels.

Try it out (it works with a watermark if you don't have a license) and let us know if you have any issues.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting this Nigel.

Hey Nigel,

Thanks for this...! In another, but related topic: If this works correctly, can we expect the OFX for Resolve 10 to be hardware accelerated too (CUDA & RedRocket)?

BTW: This software is one, if not of the best, film emulation in the market that can process R3Ds. The way you have implemented those LUTs is really incredible. Cannot imagine how wonderful it will be working with it within Resolve. Thanks a lot for this diamond...!

Regards,

Yes, I believe that our OFX for resolve will be accelerated also. Rocket support will be up to resolve, as FilmConvert as a plugin doesn't have to process the footage off disc.

Any chance of a standalone version for Win?

Hi Andy,

It is on our list, but to be honest there is a lot of development prioritized above it. I wouldn't expect to see it in the short term, sorry :(

Windows users have the option of After Effects, Premiere, and Vegas at this stage.

Hi Matt,

Installed it, but only see the old filmconvert interface in PP. Is it the same name?

Two things... either the plugin is not installed for the correct version of PP, in which case you can just copy it over.
Windows install location: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\$version\MediaCore\FilmConvertProBETA.aex
Mac install location: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/$version/MediaCore/FilmConvertProBETA.plugin

Or, the PP plugin cache needs clearing... launch PP with the Shift and Alt keys held down until the welcome screen appears.
This resets the plug-in cache and your preferences.

BTW, there is new version for Windows users:

Hi Nigel,

would also love to see a Windows stand-alone version. Then again, having it as a plugin for Resolve is the most important aspect for me.

Cheers
David
