hi friends,

After 4 months of internal development with my friends of organika and thelab
we created this new piece of software.

R3DLINK The exporter really enhance de FCP XML projects to TIFF and DPX workflow , in a visual and easy way, taking the most from the metada color information allowing to quickly go to another software like color or scratch using tiffs and dpx sequences.

All this with a minium interaction from the user. Also the software includes an automatic feature that relinks the media when the .R3D files has been moved. You only need to preverse your A01_001_date in the filename.

But, you can check out this software, download a demo version form here>

R3DLINK The Exporter

licenses will be available since july 29. check out the demos.

good day.

Hi Hassan,

This looks cool, but could you explain a bit better what it does?

Is it a conforming tool with that uses XMLs to conform R3Ds and outputs DPX?

Thats what it looks like.....Any thing to add?

would be nice to have some audio in your tutorials.... and yes please explain more what it does... is it a conforming tool like crimson?

So you have to be Online to use the Software?

You are not offering a standalone product? Honestly thats ridiculous.

After watching the tutorial, what I understand is:
This software is something like REDRushes, but you have the ability to import XML from FCP.
So you only convert the R3D files that you've been edit in FCP with the QT wrapper.
And it works with multi tracks video.

So the workflow would be something like:
1. Edit offline in FCP with QT wrapper.
2. Export the FCP's timeline to XML file.
3. Open the XML in R3DLINK Exporter.
4. And finally Export to DPX or TIFF.

Is it right???

500 dollars for 12 months?
you must be online?
crimson seems to be a better investment...

Hassan here is this place, show me your pros

Crimson has more options it seems, but for people who want things more automatic and less control and much more simpler, this might be the tool for them.

Hi there !

I am very happy yo see you replies.

Yes R3Dlink is a powerful CONFORMING tool. Very easy to use.

You can download the demo and see it working with your edit projects.

The main advantages of r3dlink over crimson are

A great visual interaction, for example

a) you can load all your tracks and see a visual representation of the FCP timeline where you can select each event and play it in the integrated player.
This way you can easily track errors in your conforming proccess.

b) cropping is very simple you really drag over the thumbnail and box select the area for cropping for each track.

c) visually you can mark just the media you want on your exports, this way you can export only the tracks you need each time. For example the green screen footage.

d ) R3dlink also generetares and HTML report where you have detailed information with thumbnails showing relevant info for each event on your timeline, if you need to me the data to another studio.

e ) As you can see R3Dlink is not just a GUI for the terminal commands of redline, also R3Dlink features an intensive search method that will try to automatically re-link media that was moved from the QT wrapper folders, or with extra characters appended on the .r3d filename.

the workflow is exactly like this

1. Edit online with QT proxies genereated from camera
2. Export the FCP's timeline to XML file.
3. Open the XML in R3DLINK Exporter.
-- here you could visually crop each event
-- and if you want select wich items you want to be exported
4. And finally Export to DPX or TIFF.

As the result you will have the same FCP timeline reflected in a folder strucuture following the same layers and event logic that the one in you FCP software.

I am agree with you about the software is more expensive than the crimson solution but just try it and you will see that r3dlink is a very powerful software with a high investment in software enginerring and User interface experience just to make things easier for you.

But lets do something more cool. Whats the price you want to pay for r3dlink ? Download, try it, and send and email to hassanvfx@gmail.com or post here with the price you will pay for r3dlink . I will hear from you.

And... if you still thinking that crimson is better that r3dlink send and email to hassanvfx@gmaill.com and i will give a download link for a software that do exports a XML filea to TIFF and DPX, with an ugly UI and a lot of buttons that only god know what they do. FOR FREE !.

if r3dlink has enough support i will create a full Color exporter that will create a linked color project. And anykind of functions that you needs, just ask for !

Finally i just want you to know that i am one of yours... im a VFX artist and i want to invite you to check out my VFX Technical director blog. http://www.hassanvfx.com, browse the articles and if you need some help about r3d workflow or vfx breakdown please contact me, i will feel very happy yo hear from you !.

sincerely , hassanvfx.

hi !

yes,

the software deal with time ramps. When you create a time ramp in FCP, the software extract the full range of frames needed to apply this ramp after in some other package like shake or AE.

You can select the resize from 4K, 2K or quarter resolution.

And you can visually crop each event to select the zoom for each one. this will follow the resize output you select.

About the -multiple layered video streams, im not sure what are you meaning cause actually this kind of streams are used for broadcasting. But the software can deal with multiple layered FCP projects.

The debayer is the same algorithm and almost the unique available, the same that uses redcine and redalert. The button where you select the debayer "quality" in other packages is actually affecting the following parameteres.

deatil wich is set to HIGH in r3dlink.
OLPF compensantion set to (post sharpen) OFF in r3dlink.
Noise reduction se to MILD in r3dlink.

if you need post sharpen i can point you to a shake macro i recently create for a project where we need to recovr a lot of detail.

Well. hope it was useful. hassanvfx.

You need to get out here in field, we do not always have internet on locations.

BEWARE PEOPLE

You must be connected to the internet to use this software.

You do not own the software. Limit to 6 or 12 months restricted license.

Beware of this.

I don't know how many shoot in remote locations.

Why pay for something that does not 100% of the times?

This Model does not work.

Please do not support this kind of BS.

Thnx
