So I found this review linked below, from many months ago, (and from Australia) about this new Eizo Flexscan series SX2262W 22" LCD monitor that a phone call to their sales force confirmed won't be released until the end of Dec. 2010. This explains why I can't find it for sale online anywhere.

BUT, for those like me who have balked at the price of an HP Dreamcolor but want something better than your run of the mill TN monitor for as accurate color as you can get on a budget, this might be an alternative for those looking and unsure about mixed reviews of the HP 2475w.

It's nowhere near the powerhouse of the ColorEdge line, but it's also probably not in their price bracket. My phone call didn't yield specific pricing information or verification of the $800-ish MSRP I've been able to find online (calculated from a target price in YEN via the exchange rate, so up for review), but this monitor's price point and performance claims do intrigue me. It'd be nice to see one in person though. Any users in Japan seen/used one in the home market of Eizo?

May be an option for others here.

Just be careful. There is an issue between Eizo monitors and BMD products. Seems that Eizo use a subset of the EIED standards BMD don't and can result in no picture - pretty much dead in the water for a monitor. Have no idea how this goes with AJA gear but it's a no-go for BMD.

WOW, that's alarming thanks for the heads up. I've read positive reviews of EIZO monitors on the board here before, never heard of this hiccup.

I don't use Resolve currently, but could potentially down the road, and this monitor would be used primarily as monitoring either Rocket output or from the system graphics card, but that's alarming news....:emote_22_yikes:

Hey Chris. Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. We have our 30" Eizo sitting in it's box because it just won't show images in 10 bit from BMD. BMD looked at it but couldn't find a solution.

Now it just goes out on location as a 2k monitor for Redcine X - bit of a waste because it's a nice screen.

Hi Shane, doing research on simple playback monitors. How is the Eizo 30 doing with the Redcine X? Are you using a ROCKET? BOB too?
Any info would be nice, thanks ;)

Hey Eric. Gimme a few days to test it out. As I said, it's been in a box and replaced with a nice Cinemage grading monitor. Once the guys who are currently in the grading suite are out (Friday my time) I'll do a quick test and get back to you.

[Edit] Although, in the meantime, I'd have a look at TVLogic. Prices are fairly comparable and they're WAY more suitable than the Eizo for playback. We went with the Cinemage for other reasons but I reckon the TVlogic grading monitor is as good or better and about a third the price and I'm basically kicking myself.[/Edit]
