Anyone know what the new series was/is being shot on?

Matt Smith is a winner IMHO BTW. Best ep I've seen in years.

Sony F35. And certainly in the first ep there was lots of aliasing in places where a well engineered camera wouldn't.

Thanks Graeme. I'd read a number of quotes from Matt Smith saying they were shooting on a "new camera". Just wondered.

He's good but he's no Tennant. I don't think anyone ever will be. Probably my second favorite doctor so far for sure though.

Don't remember seeing any aliasing. But once it's gone through macroblocking hell it's amazing anything is visible on TV.

Am I the only one who is tired of the Daleks? They're just not really a very interesting nemesis.

A little tired on the Daleks, but really looking forwards to the Weeping Angles returning next week. The aliasing I saw was in the first ep, on the aunt's clothes when they visited her house and in some of the shots of the outside of the hospital.

Blink is one of my favorite episodes of any show. I can't wait to see what they do with them. I guess they were originally from a short story that they were thinking about turning into a pilot and then they just added a Dr. Who subplot because... well what can't you add dr who to? :D

And did I see the doctor's old girlfriend from The Library? Another one of my favorites. This is certainly building to be a fan pleaser. I'm curious though how they're going to retcon his appearance. He was supposed to look the same but be "much much older" in The Library.

I hear you. The "Angles" were the creepiest thing I've seen in years. I love seeing my son watching from behind the sofa the way I used to 30+ years ago.

I met him just after he did his appearance at Christmas. He was hiding from people, sunglasses on, hat, everything...you know in case anyone recognised him - being so famous and all that - Dick! (although he was a nice enough chap just got a little ahead of himself!). Apparently he is good. Havent seen it yet. Tennant is lovely guy...Barrrowman is arrogant, but his husband is really nice.

Loving the new Doctor!! I'm a huge Tennant fan but honestly, Matt Smith's portrayal sold me in the first episode which is a great sign. Karen Gillan is a very sexy companion too but best of all, she's got something dark going on which is adding an extra layer to her character from the get-go.

Chalk one more fan up for the weeping angels, those creatures and the "Blink" episode are one of the highlights of the last four seasons, no doubt!

Can't wait for next week's episode.

5D2 was used in stills mode in the first episode, for the scene where the Doctor remembers what he noticed as he ran through the park with Amy.

I'm sorry but Tom Baker will always be my favorite. To me, he pretty much set the stage of how most characters portraying the Doctor tend to act since he had the part :)

That said, I loved David Tenant! Haven't watched the new season yet, but sounds like I need to. I tried to get into Eccleston but everytime I watched him, all I could think of is that he looked like Al Bundy! :)

I vaguely remember the last Pertwee series, but watched all the Tom Baker's as broadcast. We got colour TV in 1975, so some of the earlier eps I watched would have been in black and white.

I can now enjoy Dr Who from pretty much any era, although I have to struggle to want to watch any McCoy episodes or the McGann TV Movie. I really enjoy the older episodes of Hartnell and especially Troughton, and it's such a shame that so many of them are lost.

I'm really happy with the new series, and I think Smith is doing a great job with the character.

It hasn't taken me yet, but I'll stick with it, I'm worried Mr Moffat is trying to hard to say theres a new person in charge, I'm going to change lots of things so you know that thats the case. We'll see.

I heard that they are actually asking ANYONE with footage from lost shows, even caught in the background on TV while recording something else, to get them that footage as they are trying to piece them together.

I'd say out of all the episodes I have ever seen, Pirate Planet, written by Douglas Adams, is my favorite.

Zak, that's so cool. Any info on the video?
