new dell ultra sharp U2711 IPS monitor??

I am also looking for another monitor just for my tools and programs not for color work. For that I have a kona3 and a cinetal. Has any one took delivery of one of these new dell ultra sharp U2711 IPS monitor with WQHD resolution? Or is this too much monitor for just tools and programs?

I have the older version, size is perfect for travel, smaller than a 30 bigger than a 24 noticeably on both counts. Older ones had terrible color issues tho, mine is pink if uncalibrated.

Hi,

I'm slammed and even though I've had one for a couple of weeks, I haven't had the time to calibrate it.

I don't plan on using this to do color work, it's just a computer monitor for me.

What I will say is that I'm very happy with it as a computer monitor. I have the Gateway 30" and don't like it because at max resolution everything is a bit too small to read easily. It also goes very soft at 1920 x 1080.

The 27" Dell is just enough bigger at max resolution to be comfortable to work with. It's less purple than the Gateway and out of the box was better balanced against the output to the calibrated monitor I use for Rocket output.
