  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Canon Teaser for the FHD Low Light new battle..

That sensor may be good for some specific purposes but it's not ideal for music videos, features and photography. Dragon isn't in trouble at all.

Ugh - now all the low light / no lighting guys, who want to shoot wide open fro the shallowest depth of field and maximum 'bokeh' are going to start complaining that they need to use ND...

I better sell my Epic now so I can shoot fireflies in FULL HD

Assuming a T 1.3 lens (canon 50L1.2) and a 1/24 s shutter speed,
they would still have to use a million ISO if I used this formula correctly

still, this is a prototype camera, so it's far away from a production camera.

But the image is clearly a few stops under; it looks like night, not day.

Canon announced an 80,000 ISO mode for the C300 (let's see if it's actually useable) and the FF sensor is 1.6X bigger in each dimension, so in theory that's another 1.6 stops better, or 200,000 ISO about. Which is, conveniently, two and a half stops under a million ISO, for an image that looks about two and a half stops underexposed.

So it makes sense. I wonder if this will come to market as a very expensive specialty product. It's cool.
