Anything GTX580 and above should handle r3d with ease at 1/2 res, which is plenty when editing. I'm using a 3gb Gtx 580 and it's been great so the 780 should be plenty, even if the architecture was meant for games. How much ram by the way?

I'd swap the PSU if you can fit that into your budget. Get a nice high-end pro-grade PSU from a reputable company like PC Power & Cooling.

monitoring on two coloredge monitors, smartscope, and a bt1710
