  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Build 16 v3.2.1

Is the updated RedCine working with 16:9 files yet? Or not? I can't seem to find this info, though I feel like I read something about it somewhere at sometime...

Redcine always worked with 16:9, it was redalert and QT that didn't.

They do now

my RedCine isn't working with any files at all, doesn't seem to want to load them, but now I can rule out 16:9 compatibility as the issue, time for a re-install. thank you, boys, for the prompt response, very helpful.

Meryem, you can always trash the folder titled "Redcine" from the Library folder (on a Mac) to reset it.

That fixed my RED Cine issues after upgrading to the latest B16 and RED Cine releases. Maybe that'll do the trick for you, too.

Meaning, reinstalling may not solve the issue, since the install process doesn't delete or replace this folder.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the suggestion, Tico...eureka, it *did* work! Praise the lord and pass the beer! I've been having trouble with this for 2 days now, it's always great to put these little nightmares to rest...thankyou thankyou!

When I played the footage back, right in the middle of the shot, the camera suddenly showed the "Initializing" screen. ???

Something similar happened to us today with this build.

We shot 4K Redcode 36, 25fps and during playback of the clip camera showed "Initialising" message for a moment, than shot down by itself.

Also, we got the picture out over Blackmagic HDlink to Sony 20" monitor, but later no luck. HDlink blinks like it receives the signal, but there is no picture. Strange, because we got it the first time, and haven't changed any settings since then.
