New Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K

Carlos,
Just me posting the work of talented individuals who have been using the camera.

Rand: Thank you so much for posting all of this footage. Really appreciate it.

Do your friends have any plans to do DR or other tests with the camera ? :-)

Carlos,

Thanks! I don't know any of the individuals whom posted these videos. Hopefully they and others will continue to post more so that we can better assess the capabilities of the 6K BMPCC.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K - First Test

Filmed in 4K, ProRes HQ, 24P

SETTINGS USED IN THIS SCENE:
Shutter Angle: 180
Aperture F1.8-F2.8
ISO: 1250-3200

I initially wanted to try Filming in 6K BRAW but BRAW will not import into Premiere Pro, only into Davinci Resolve. On the next test, I will edit in Resolve to try out the 6K Raw capabilities.

This camera is really impressive. I was able to do so much with the image when color grading and fine tuning. There wasn't any present noise, or any sense of the image breaking apart.

Edited and Color Graded in Premiere Pro.

Gels were used to accentuate the colors on the candy machine.

I opened the box for Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6k and caught my friend as she was leaving the office. She's got a sweet bike so that didn't hurt.

Camera Settings: 6144 X 2560 | 12:1 Braw | 23.976 fps
Lens Used: Sigma 18-35 with Polar Pro Variable ND

Man someone needs to do better tests. All of these are just people filming their wives and girlfriends walking around. Thats the new thing instead of Dogs.

Jeffrey,

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. However, most of the people who will be using this camera won't be making a feature length film for Hollywood distribution, some but not all. I just appreciate the time and effort the posters took to upload these to give those who don't have it yet an Idea of its quality.

I get that. I honestly don't mind them, I've just been noticing the trend.

I use them for action sports content and product shots in a studio. So i'm not doing features either. I guess at a ceratin point once you've seen one you've seen them all.

That said I fully appreciate all the options of what you get to see. I just wish people would take a bit more of a step out and get something that shows more.

I think what I find even more annoying is the folks trying to be "influencers" and spend half the video talking about a product they've BARELY even used just to get it up quick.

Jeffrey,

I understand exactly what you're saying. After looking almost everywhere on the web, it basically sample footage from posters of shots of people and places closest to them. I'm not going to be posting a damn thing of my own because I don't own the camera. So I personally can't critique the work of others. But it's still early on and more and more people are getting this camera and maybe more "Staged Stories" will be coming.
