New Big Zoom from Fujinon

[Travis MacRitchie]

I was pretty excited by this lens at NAB 2014 this year. A 25-300mm PL Zoom with integrated motors. Obviously this is a shot across the bow at Angenieux and if the optical performance is up to the standards of the premiere line or at least the cabrio line I think this will become a real workhorse.

We did a brief blog post on the new lens and have a video of it at NAB on our website here.

Couldn't find any info on pricing but I'm guessing around 60-70K. Also I'm guessing that at a 3.5 it should cover Dragon, but of course that remains to be seen.

i heard more like $45k. 2" smaller and 6lbs lighter the the Optimo 12x and probably more durable. We will be putting one in our gimbal for sure.

Isn't that the intro bumper music to Funny or Die? ;-)

I've got an email out to my Fuji rep to see if there is any more concrete info on pricing. I really doubt that the 45K mark is within reach though, as much as I'd like to see it for that price. I will update when I hear back from Fuji.

Pretty sure it's not... Custom mix I did of some random sounds from Apple loops library as part of the logic pro software package.
