  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Beta-Build 18...

This is a known bug- for now go into the menu and disable audio, then re-enable audio and it comes back.

... thanks for the workaround!
going on like this i guess the only feature we'll be missing would be the ability to play space invaders during the boot sequence.

Just reporting what I beleive to be a bug in Build 18 that I've just installed on my camera. Phantom Power logic does remain enabled across camera power cycles on the menu but effectively it doesn't work. Phantom needs to be switched off and on to make it effective through every power cycle.

build 18 playback works if microphone unplug

build 18 playback works if microphone unplug

Shoot yesterday 110 gigs of footage with the new beta, recording audio on camera, going varispeed and playing back on camera and had not a single issue ... seems towork very well!
coud not hear audio from headphones but still have to check if i'm doing something wrong as i'm not using them often ...
Just found out a trick to make the playback in camera work for me. So if audio is disable and the microphone still plug in to the camera, playback fail, if I unplug the microphone the same clip who was crashing the camera before, play fine. I'm glad I finally found a solution to playback the clip (with sound recorded) in camera, but would be more interested by a feed back and a logical explanation. New audio board in the camera (serial 976) microphone is a Sennheiser ME64 cardioid (wasn't using the phantom power) build 18 V3.6.4. And media was recorded on a red raid 4K 2/1 25Fps RC 38
Red team Let me know if you have some interest on getting a report ticket. As it seems I can reproduce that error every time I plug the microphone in.
cordially

Audio Playback error

Audio Playback error

For sure Brice. If you can upload it to our tech support web site ?

I have noticed and don't know if it has been talked about before. In Build 18 4K anamorphic, If i have the EVF, Red LCD and then plug an external monitor into the SDI ports, the image on the monitor has grey shaded areas on each side which seems like masking for 4x3. When i unplug either the EVF or the LCD, the grey shading goes away. Is this a known issue? Happens everytime.

Stuart,
It's being a while I send a incident ticket, which file do I send? I guess it's the log file you create with the red.
The online tech support seems busy, keeping the log file and will give a try later.
Cheers

I have been experiencing the same thing with red 4207 along with check/recheck audio rec enable after power up to send embedded audio down the line to the monitors. More of a request, would it be possible to be able to prevent the preview out displaying general camera menu function but still be seen in the EVF/onboard? Some clients find it a little disconcerting to see a card/drive being formatted despite the reassurances. Along with this, being able to display the frame line markings through the preview hdsdi would be great in this transitional 16x9 /4x3 safe phase.

Cheers,

Lachie
