Wasn't there a Red dual battery or other option to swap batteries without powering down that Jarred had said was coming soon?

Jarred had said something about it a couple months ago. Yes there are other 3rd party options where I don't have to use heavy Anton Bauer batts. I was waiting to see what Red was going to put out.

So does this mean that you guys aren't making this anymore Jarred?

Not all Anton/Bauer batteries are "heavy". The only batteries that will work with the Anton/Bauer hot swap mount are the Dionic 90's (two in parallel gives you 180wh) and the HyTRON 50's.

There is a way to Hot Swap the RED batteries using P-Tap to P-Tap cable. See: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16880&highlight=battery+swap

The other option is that Element Technica is coming out with a Power Conditioning Plate that will support 3rd party batteries (Including the Brick Type battery packs used for Studio Shooting). I think it will have multiple inputs and be wired to fail-over to the best available input. I don't know the exact ETA on that though. You can email them.
