New Balance - Sunland

Hi Russell ! very good job, don't stop !!! If you can give a few tips for dummies))) We shot backstage for Vogue magazine. The photo session was dedicated to the skateboard. Faced with the problem of focus. How do you deal with this ? all your shots are very clean and clear and all at high speed!!!! What lens are you using canon or PL? How you managed with focus , you're doing it himself? or have a focus puller?

Hey Dima,

Thanks!! It is really hard pulling focus for skating. I used the offhollywood hotlink with fool control with the canon 24-105 for a few of the shots but most of them were a locked focus at 24mm around f8. I tried to keep a pretty even distance from the skater while shooting.

Thanks for tips and tricks ! Very interesting to try 24-105 never even thought about it.
In Moscow the summer started but the sun shines not as much as you. In Moscow F8 too dark !
I saw backstage at the berrics. You use iso 320 end F5.6 for the filming of the backside tailslide. I think about it. In any case, I'll definitely try!
In Moscow someone was filming skateboarding on RED but it's almost a static frame and slow mo.

Russell Thanks for the nice video and for the tips.

Russell, I loved this. I also loved how much HARD WORK this clearly was. And how much you guys put into it. Bravo.

Also loved the matching of in/out points.

So cool.

Really love this piece.

PS - also really jealous how well you can skate and shoot! So awesome!!!

OMG!!!!

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!

(Last shot (freeze frame) kinda looks like a placeholder for an action aerial.....is that what was originally intended but no budgeted for?) ;)
