MacPro Tower:
no updates given today :-(

MacBook Pro:

Retina Display!
2880x1800
Higher contrast ratios, deeper blacks, great angle of view. Screen glare reduced by 75%
4.46lbs
16GB @ 1600Mhz
Kepler Graphics GT650M
7 hr battery - 30 day Standby
Ports:
MagSafe 2, two Thunderbolt ports, USB3/2 both sides, and headphone jack, SD slot, HDMI, REDMag port . . . kidding

• Starts @ $2200: 15.4", 2.3Ghz processor, 8GB RAM, GT 650M 1GB, 256GB flash

• Ouch! . . . showed BMD camera to demo Thunderbolt port

• "The thermal system operates in a way that's nearly imperceptible to the user" Like my Epic ; - )

FCPX:
• "Final Cut Pro 10 takes "full advantage" streaming 9 camera views"
• Final Cut Pro also getting updated for Retina. Density of the display allows for 1080p video to be windowed at full resolution.

OSX:
• Mountain Lion has iCloud support built in. Apple apps are configured automatically via iCloud (which I hope stops sucking with this version)
• Document-based apps getting support via "Documents in the Cloud"
• Looks like there is an aggressive convergence to the iPad way of doing things across the entire Apple line - Siri etc.
• There is some Facebook+Facetime, Flickr, Twitter hooks as well. Apple is really mounting up to ride the SM wave.
• Dictation - that is coming in a big way to all things Apple.
• PowerNap - allows your mac to update and sync while asleep and charging
• Cost is $19.99

Safari:
• Cool updates to allow cross device sharing of tabs, bookmarks etc
• Makes sharing links with others real easy
• Hooks into Twitter and others

Gaming:
• Supports both turn-based and head to head gaming. Mac to Mac, or cross platform iOS to Mac via Game Center.
• Apple gaming now looks legit

iOS 6:
• 365 million iOS devices sold!!
• 200 new enhancements to Siri (IMHO, if you're not using this now . . . better start - this is the future of mobile computing)
• Siri: Check sports scores, Wiki type stuff, etc in plain language. Now integrated with Yelp as well. I'm sure TripAdvisor, Google maps, Movie schedules etc are to follow.
• Oh fuck me! Apple is working with major Car manufacturers to pre-wire Siri for "Eyes Free" control. BMW, GM, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, etc committed to Siri integration in next 12 months
• Adding English and French for Canada, Spanish for Spain, Mexico, and US. Italian, Korean
• Shared photo streams.
• Friends get push notification with photos, appears in album in the photos app, and everyone can comment on photos.
• Beta available today - ships this fall

iOS 6 Facebook Integration:
• Facebook integrated with iOS 6, login system-wide like Twitter
• Facebook gets Siri support, you can just talk to post to Facebook
• Integrated to the App Store, can "Like" apps and see which apps, music, TV, and movies your friends like.
• Friends sharing contacts on Facebook automatically shows up in contacts

Phone App:
• Phone app now has a button next to slide to answer, you can slide up to reply with a message or add a reminder to call back later.
• Do Not Disturb mode - when on, it'll never light up the screen or make a sound
• Fine-tune who you get phone calls from, like Favorites or contacts groups
• Slider for repeated calls, second call can come through when turned on if someone calls again inside of 3 minutes
• Lost mode allows you to send a phone number to the phone and if someone finds it, they can tap on it to call that number back

FaceTime:
• Works over cellular networks (we'll see about this)
• Phone number and Apple ID are unified in iOS 6. If someone calls you with phone number via FaceTime, you can answer on iOS device or on a Mac

Mail:
• VIP allows you to mark someone as a VIP, when you get an email from a VIP, new emails from that person show up like a text message on lock screen. VIP emails are starred and there's even a VIP mailbox
• Easier to insert photo and video inside of the Mail app
• Native Chinese support. Apple is really going after those 1.3 billion customers - Chinese references throughout presentation.

Passbook:
• Holy Crap!
• Virtual wallet - air travel boarding passes, movie tickets, sports, Starbucks card shows balance(!), seems to be GPS enabled, coupons for Target, express checkin at Hotels, VIP passes. How does the retail function integrate or compete with Groupon?

Guided Access - Steve, where ever you are now, thank you for caring:
• Allows children with autism to learn independently on their iPad
• I'm sure one of many learning disabled tools to be ported through Apple products

Maps / Flyover (suck it Google):
• All cartography done by Apple
• Apple has been flying over cities to build 3D photographic model - can rotate to see sides of buildings!!
• All maps are vector based, very fast to zoom, can rotate, labels rotate with it
• Entire new mapping solution built from the ground up
• Ask Siri where you can get gas, and it'll look for gas stations
• Business cards integrated with Yelp for all sorts of details and photos
• Very futuristic looking and slick - aerial porn
• Navigation gives multiple route options - Siri talks out turn by turn details

This is Epic, shipping today! off to the store!!!!

your live updates are way better than all the "official" ones Josh - reduced to what really is important. So - thanks :)

No MacPro update?

before we lose hope, apple store is still down...

no MacPro joy today joe

what's wrong with this picture just taken of the Apple Store?

I don't think anything's wrong with it. I THINK they bumped the specs up (processor, hard drive, maybe graphics cards?), but didn't change the chasis. No Thunderbolt listed in tech specs, and no other differences of note.

They just didn't mention it at ALL in the Keynote since the chasis didn't change.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, I think they just updated the processor speed on the lowest price Mac Pro. I think. All around weird.
