Nice

Tom - quick question - the top pics (and the thread title) show T1.8, but the landscape pic shows T1.9...
As the donor Sigma is f/1.8 - I would assume the T1.9 to be more accurate - but perhaps that was an early proto and your final version is indeed T1.8?
That would also mean that Sigma was playing it safe with the f/1.8 rating...

Either way this look like an amazing lightweight zoom - especially for gimbal operation... ;o)

How soon will it be available? Put me on that list please!

Are there hard stops on the focus now?

very big fan of this and cheaper/lighter too win win!!!!

Ordered one, will have it by the 15th and will be shooting with it on the 16th. Talk about perfect timing!

How much are the mounts?

Yeah, I'm interested too in the PL to EF mount adapter.

Any metric version?

Do you plan to do a longer focus throw version?

Yeah what about metric and a "pro" version with 270+ degrees focus rotation?

perhaps that was an early proto and your final version is indeed T1.8?

Peter, all is good! DXO tested it as a true T1.8 ! ! ! ;)

Are there hard stops on the focus now?

Yeah, are the stops hard now or soft like the original 18-35 ART?

If someone gets an Allstar 18-35 in Europe, I would be very interested in testing it against the GL optics 18-35 and the FocusOptics 14-24 Ruby.

The Allstar lightweight design looks great, especially for gimbal work. The GL optics 18-35 looks more robust, but weights 1.5kg.

Can someone please tell me if this has hard stops on the focus?

We hosted an early version of this lens at our booth at NAB this year - and I will say that this is a true work of "Art"

I'm not a dealer for Allstar, but what I can tell you about Tom is that he cares about the tools with his heart - not his wallet - and that he's an Artist who believes in craftsmanship.

my Allstar 18-35 lite should be here before August 1, and hosted in Los Angeles. I will also make sure that it makes it's way to IBC (Amsterdam) in September..
