  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New again...

I'll tell you... the shocker is making DPXs. It is a DPX-makin' machine. Faster than 1:1 (32fps). I don't have the numbers yet on the rest. Just watching HQ footage play on a 30" is killer. Also... while you are kicking out DPX files (or whatever) you can still do your stuff. Renders are in the background.

Keep them coming, Jim.

Thanks Jim,

getting that amazing REDRocket card with REDRocketCine-X app sometimes in Fall after my summer holidays....

I gotta tell you guys.. this is one feature that Deanan and Rob pulled out at the last minute that has been a really big one for me personally..

It's so incredible not only being able to do all your playback and grading in Realtime, but to be able to Render; WHILE you are still going through your shots one buy one and grading; still in Realtime, is something everyone needs to experience :)

Jim, so I suppose it can do the prores for editorial while you playback stuff for the director? does it accepts LUT's? the most easy way to find/create LUT's could be from Color *.MGA using the export LUT function...

Always good for productivity. It means less time to grab another coldy though

Doc.

Heh heh heh.. trust me on the first go you will re-render the same shot 3 or 4 times just to watch the little DPX frame numbers blast through like it's lost it's mind...

Perfect thing to experience while sitting back and sipping a coldy ( until that gets old :) )

PLEASE tell me RocketCine-X is PC compatible as well.... I'm a bit tired of apps only being on one side of the fence from Red. I'm sure I speak for all PC users out there when I say this, and I speak from a place of love for Red, not out of spite.

Cheers for listening (and it looks gorgeous btw!),

Paul

We are developing REDCINE-X to be cross-platform at great expense to us and free to you. ROCKETcine-X was developed by Deanan, Rob and Graeme because they could. There is no PC version of this one only because they have other things to do besides learning how to make PC apps and we only need one app ported to PC... the expensive (free) one.

Maybe I can help. This is what I've been doing for the past 20 years.

Jarred - RocketCine is replacement to Red Alert?

Jim&Red team

The fun never ends.
Keep on coming.

Thanks

Jarred - RocketCine is replacement to Red Alert?

Its more of a convergence of RED-Alert! and REDRushes.. Re-written from the ground up to advance quicker and of course implement RED Rocket™.

Wow, this one looks great. Does it make Sense with the Fixed Scarlet? And, MacPro only? I'd like a Firewire Version for my MacBook. And Batteries for the Red Rocked. Imagine that :-)

What about 3d? Two 3k would display Realtime?

Very interesting. Keep em coming.

An integrated RA/RR application sounds wonderful. Real time 4K...suddenly the TORTURE of not having a 4K monitoring and delivery system becomes evident. Bring on RED RAY.

My Rocket is already winging its way home to me, as well, somewhat to my surprise. I was expecting a longer wait - gotta clear a space this weekend to play with it. With EPIC on the horizon, I will be interested in knowing how the Rocket and even higher resolution images will play together.

The evolution of RED continually blows me away. The last year has been astonishing. I imagine that the next six months, with everything erupting from the pipeline, should be even more amazing than the last year.
