Hi,

I would like a bit bigger monitor for framing, focus pulling and when flying a drone - for the camera operator (I have a bad 5 inch lilliput that works only for framing, not pulling focus for gimbal work).

Is the BM 4k video assist good enough? For bigger projects like features or tv, we would rent something. But for our own work and drone?

The recording is not important for me.

Edit:
Forgot to mention that I have a 4,7 inch Red touch as my main monitor with my Red Epic W, and it works just fine, but want something bigger, and something for a focus puller as well.
I also have have wireless option from Connex which I use when flying and also an option when not flying.

I am curious as to the advantages of a 4K display the size of a RED TOUCH 7".

I don't see advantages on anything smaller than a 32-inch display.

We have a slew of 4K/HD options here and honestly forget which is which during edit/color stages.

And for ACs, I still see others using resolutions as low as 480p on set.

To be clear - the BM video assist 4K is not a 4K monitor.

It is a 1920x1080 monitor with 4K hdmi input/recorder ability.

I had the 5" before all the new firmware updates adding luts and stuff.

You know, for the price , it's not half bad. Obviously you won't have red touch control with it.

The 7" has luts, normal SDI ports. The brightness is not like one of the new 1500 nit atomos or small HD, and I may be wrong but the color accuracy might be limited because of the panel's bit depth, however at the price... you get a lot.

Stuff you don't get :

Waveform or vectorscope.

Is it "good enough" I'd say... yeah.

Buy it on Amazon and return if you hate it. Open box and used deals here too:

Thanks for you input Dan.

I will still use the 4,7" red touch and this as a second monitor/AC or just have the possibility to do the framing on a bigger screen. And as I mention use it for the camera op. when flying our epic on the freefly alta.

So if it is good enough for framing and pulling focus, I say it is good enough. The will not use it for color accuracy.
