RED STORE in hollywood has RED STATION CF readers.. Apple store or Melrose Mac likely has some cheaper lexar/sandisk ones.

the Red Station is 250, is that for just one slot?

I went to the online Red store and there wasn't much info.

What kind of interface does it have, esata? Firewire?

Plus I'd need the Red Station base unit or does it come with a wall wart?

You don't need the base.

the thing with the Red CF reader is that it as "certified" as it gets.

If you search "green frame" on this forum, you'll see that a few people have had copy issues with other brands.

They are overcomeable, but needs extra attention.

Cheers

esata, fw800, usb
bus powered for fw800
or wallwart or usb power adapter for esata.

Why the need for 5? The Red CF reader is built like a tank and is well worth the money so maybe just get one or two Red readers and a few cheaper ones. Also, other readers you need multiple backups for "when" they fail, with Red I'd still have a backup (can't be too safe) for "if" it fails but it's not predetermined.
