  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Need techno-crane advice

So I have just learned that the park sets a limit on cranes of 20 feet. I am not sure if this means 20 feet overall, or 20 feet of actual reach from the axis.

I need to start making some phonecalls to see about prices, etc. Any more suggestions? The shoot will be at Yellowstone. I will have a 5- or 6-person crew to help carry the crane and weights. But I want to rent a technocrane that only requires one additional person to operate it, not two additional people, for example.

Does anyone know an independent owner/operator of a 20-foot techno? Or know of any companies that might work us a sweet deal?

Thanks!

Hey Tom,

Try Redman Movies & Stories, 801.978.9292. Redman had several varieties of cranes when I worked there. They're in Salt Lake City. Filmlites Montana might also have what you need.

This may sound stupid but you could always use a Kessler Shuttle Pod with Keeper Wheels, counter-weights a wedge plate and the Revolution head you already have - would give you a straight travel-out on any axis
