  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm trying to create 2k dpx log output but I'm getting a solid color bar through the bottom half of my frame.

This happens in FCP, Crimson, Redcine and Redrushes.

Any help much appreciated.

Which version of camera firmware did you shoot with and which version of REDAlert/REDRushes do you have installed ?
Can you select "Output Script" from the File menu in REDRushes and post the result ?

I have just tested with material shot with build 16 and REDline from the REDAlert 3.5 release and it looks ok.

We should be able to get this to work.

Are you using the crop function? There seem to be some problems there. Try to use scaling only.

Thanks for getting back to me. I shot on build 15 and I'm using the latest REd software, do you think that's the issue?

my export script is empty as I closed the program, but I can recreate it if you think it will help.
 
I have just tested with material shot with build 15 and that looks ok, too.
FWIW, I have tested cropping and that also seems to work ok.
Let REDRushes export the render script and post it.

I have tried the same settings and it does work on my machine.
(quarter resolution debayer is of course not optimal for this output size, but it works).

Gunleik, is there a known problem with the GlueTools demo ?

If you do NOT have a lisence, you get a temporal RED band on your dpxs for software that doesn't read it natively.

If you open a DPX sequence in say shake, it should look ok.

If that's the case, de-install gluetools.
 
Yeah, I just installed Glue Tools.
When I open the DPX files in Photoshop they look ok.
But in QuickTime player (which can read DPXs only with the help of Glue Tools) I see a semitransparent red band covering about 1/4th of the frame about 1/4th above the frame bottom.

Is that what you are seeing, Zorie ?
