What programs can I use to import looks into the Red One on set?

thanks

It's not. What you can do though is get a look with say REDALERT and then dial in the settings in to the camera directly and save the 'look' onto an SD card on the camera. You can then load that card and import a look whenever you wish.
In saying this i have found sometimes it doesn't always happen...this is what i dub 'Red World' where everything works, albeit sometimes at different times:)

Trouble Importing Looks

Trouble Importing Looks

Somewhat related to this topic, we've recently purchased a Red One camera and have spent a lot of time over the last couple of weeks creating looks in camera then exporting them to SD cards. However, as you indicate, reloading these looks off of the card into the camera does not always happen. In fact, the camera rarely seems to want to cooperate. And at some points it gets really weird. For example, we were shooting a chart looking at colors, and after importing a look, the entire chart went blue, minus a couple of squares that were yellow. Other things like this have happened as well.

Usually, it seems the camera just chooses to ignore the looks. However, this only seems to be the case with looks where we adjust the curve, which has been all of them. If we stay in Red Color and just touch the colors and the sort, then the looks load fine. However, when we want to tweak the knee, toe, center, etc, those are the looks that usually have issues reloading. We also tried to tweak the FLUT™, just to see what it did, and those looks aren't even being recognized by the camera, even though they're saved on the card. And finally, this is something that's occurred on both Build 21 and Build 30, which we're currently on.

With all of that said, I have a couple of questions:

1) Why does this happen? Sort of broad, but any info would be appreciated.

2) Are there advantages to creating looks in Red Cine-X, as opposed to creating them in camera. And if so, why does this work better? We haven't done this yet, but should there be a difference? The looks we are exporting to the cards in camera show up as we created them in both Red Cine-X and Rocket Cine-X, but for whatever reason, the camera rarely recognizes those looks.

Any info anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

what build are we talking about?
