  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Need help ASAP!!!! How to force SDI or HDMI to show menu?

Goto

Settings>Display>Monitor Control/Monitor tab.

Select Brain HDMI /HDSDi from the 1st drop down box. Then select 2nd drop down box MODE select Menus, check the little box next to it marked tools.

Then move to the next drop box, called OVERLAY & select Standard (RED). That should do it.

Remember to shut down & repower up.

This works on 4.03 haven't had time to install 4.09

I'm on remote location and got my LCD/EVF cable broken! SDI/HDMI works but not showing menu on external monitor - is there ANY way to force menu to be shown?
Your options are:
- use the REDmote. There are slots on page 8 to set the monitor modes
- download the DSMC Resources package from the RED support page. It contains several force preset files you can load on the SSD to force menus on either HDMI or HDSDI.

I'm sure you've been grilled already for this and an extremely important lesson, but where the hell are your backup cables? NEVER i think should anyone hire themselves out with a complete backup kit (only you know what that might be)....hope you solve this, but here's a great wakeup call for many that hire out...or producers that don't hire out properly....I have seen this far to often in the underwater shooting field....no backup cables, monitor, charger...the list goes on.
Sorry to have ranted on you here Dmitry, but a $300 cable is well....worth it. But obviously it does not stop there.....

This might be useful to me. Using a Scarlet with side handle without a redtouch at the moment.
