Need advice on renting out my RED

Hi friends. I have a Red Scarlet package that has been sitting in my closet for a few months now because my other job has kept me pretty busy. I don't want my investment to go to waste, so I am now looking to rent out my Scarlet. I currently have no insurance.

What's the best way to rent out my Scarlet? Through another rental house? Independently? How should I start? What price range should I be looking at for a basic ready to run scarlet package with Canon and PL Mount?

in my experience i could not get any house to want a scarlet, so i grabbed and epic and then dragon and now they deal with me...i still insure it myself even though they and the clients already do as well, i like to be super safe..

Not to burst you bubble, but:

If your regular job keeps you too busy to shoot... you're probably too busy to rent (effectively) to individual producers. Also; individual producers want a one stop shop. They want an entire package: pro-lenses, batteries, men cards (and not just one or two of any of those) all the kit with monitors, cables, tripod & head (quality) etc, etc, etc. If you can't supply it all they will go to the place that can. Even then if you don't have a close personal relationship they may not rent form an unknown who may or may not keep the gear in good nick, and who may not be able to offer bulletproof solutions when gear goes down during a shoot.

Rental houses may 'take' your camera; but will probably never rent it.

+1 on above comments. I have my camera listed at the top 3 rental houses in my area. Very few calls from them. Years ago I did 'give' my Red One to a good rental house to rent. Big mistake.. Renting from my experience is a full time hustle. My best (brief) advise for renting a Scarlet would be to nurture relationships with filmmakers, shooters and up and coming content producers. Posting a website or online ad alone will be useless and underbidding will be useless fyi.

I get insurance through Athos as well as requiring insurance from clients. It covers equipment I rent as well which is great.
