Hi! I've started doing tests and comparisons with a YouTube channel called The Slanted Lens. The host and I are interested in doing a head-to-head comparison between the Red Raven and the Sony FS7. I know they're very different cameras, but I know a few people who are looking at them both and have asked for a comparison.

Is there anyone out there who might be down to bring their Raven or FS7 for some studios tests? We might even try to shoot a sort of small scene with the cameras, if we can manage. We are located in Los Angeles.

Let me know!

Not to add bias to your review but I've looked at both of these at NAB as options for an upcoming project. For me, the FS7 and FS5 just don't look all that great for cinematic use. The Raven, Blackmagic URSA, and Kinefinity all look filmic while the Sony cameras just don't have that filmic looking footage. I'm interested to see what you'll find in your review.

Would it possible to add the Varicam LT to the mix ? I saw CW" Containment" episode and it looked amazing! I've been hearing a lot of this cameras' native ISO5000 from Hollywood DP's and am very interested . Would love to see some comparison videos.

Personally I very much agree. However, the Sony does have some feature advantages to the Raven (internal ND's, built-in EVF, pick-up-and-go ergonomics) that could make it a strong competitor for some who do a lot of run-n-gun stuff. I'm interested to see just how the images stack up and how much the ergonomics can compensate on the Sony.

I don't think the Varicam LT would be a great fit for this particular comparison if only because it costs significantly more than the other two cameras. However, I would love to see how the Varicam LT compares with the Alexa and the Scarlet-W. If I can get a chance to have all those cameras in a room at once, I will definitely do a comparison!
