First day of shooting went great! Here are some screen grabs. Pretty happy with the way the Scarlet handled the back light!

Tell me what you think!

Here is a shot we won't use in the film, but we thought the lens flares were just too beautiful not to pick up! Shot on CP.2's. I believe an 85 or 50.

Hello everyone! It's official, I have launched my first Kickstarter campaign!

Here is the link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/michaelmillichamp/necrophilia-a-love-story

My goal is 10,000 and it seems like an extreme challenge, but hopefully we can pull through!

We have the opening scene in the Kickstarter video, but it isn't that great of quality so for all of you pixel peepers, I uploaded a private video of the first scene so you can check it out!

Please do what ever you can to help us make this movie! It's going to be a challenge reaching our goal, but it will be well worth it!

Thanks!

Yea buddy! Backed..

Thanks guys! Maybe an admin can embed the video on the page..

You don't need an admin for that, not even a moderator. Just click on edit, then click on the little icon that looks like a filmstrip and enter the URL; works with Vimeo and Youtube, though I don't know about password protected videos.

Talking of which - why do you password protect it? Isn't it in your interest to get as many people as possible to see it in the highest quality?

Thanks for the tip Martin.

I am making the link private because it is for a specific film festival, and I don't want the clip spreading around. Not saying it will, but I just feel like I have better control over it that way.

I may be alone here but I find the title repulsive and the implied subject matter unacceptable. I understand pushing boundaries but the line has to be drawn somewhere to maintain human intergrity.
Unless I'm completely off base and this is a comedy... Been wrong before- tell me I am- please!!!

Is it necrophilia if the person is walking and talking? I've read the script. Nothing tasteless at all... I'm guessing you're not a fan of Canadian indie "Kissed" :)

Well you are definitely not alone.

I don't believe a line has to be drawn anywhere. I think there should be no lines and you should make what you want to make, how you want to make it. For example, Lars Von Trier's next movie is called Nymphomaniac and there will be an R rated version and an X rated version, because he wants to show people his art. And I am completely fine with that!

But, I completely understand your concern and to give a little insight, it is a comedy/drama/romance. It's nothing morbid or disgusting.

Thank you for keeping it bearable Michael!!!

There was a film called Deadgirl which had a very distasteful premise but I felt it was so well done that it was a genuinely great film. I have faith this gentleman can cut it.

Me too. That's why I backed him. Did you see the short film he made last year? It came in 2nd place in RED/Light Iron's 4k contest at NAB 2012.
