  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Naturalistic Handheld Short Film

great job but i have a question.
where the lenses nikon lenses ??
 
the bars and tone.. lol.. seriously lame. and so was the countdown... yuck.

the film did not make sense to me as it was in french.. i only got the part that said.. i am antoine..

oh and yeah.. if you ever want to participate in a film fest.. you just commited short film suicide by putting it on vimeo.

it was shot nicely.. i liked the audio.. wonder what you recorded with.
i also liked how you lit the kid in the dining. wonder where you put the lights and what you used.

it had a very cold effect to it.. i'm not into that stuff.. but it was nicely shot though. at one point i felt that the kid needed a harder grade.. "as he walks away"

but it was alright.. i bet i wouldve liked it more if i understood it.
 
Andrew, to answer your questions, the lighting was mainly natural, supplemented with a bounceboard in a couple of shots and a pepper in the kitchen scene. But overall we really didn't have much of a lighting package.

As for the kid, we ended up doing many, many takes to get the right moments. Sometimes he had it on the first take, most of the time we found it much later.

There's no quicktime available, and it won't be on vimeo much longer - Akube nailed it on the head, once it's fest time the film goes bye-bye. We wanted to share it with the reduser community first though. We like to think of you guys as a big family - one big, dysfunctional, over-the-top family. But we're still family. Hahaha.
 
Get rid of the bars and tone.

The actual short itself starting with the kid sitting at the table, was nice. Simple and well done.
 
To address everyone's concerns about the bars and tone - this is a quick post of the short - it will be reposted again once some additional corrections have been done - and the bars will be removed! As the title indicates, it's just a test. Thanks for all the feedback!
