One of the feature film that I'm associating is undergoing the post production procedure. This was shot in 2k 2:1. The DP wanted to keep this aspect ratio (since 2:1 is some cinematographer's concept that he believes in) so we will print this in 1.85:1 or 16:9 letter boxed.

What do people here think we should call this aspect/format?

RED 2:1? RED size 2:1?

edit--------
ah, found his concept, Univisium.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Univisium

So should we call this Univisium format?

Sure, call it Univisium. It's catchier than "2:1".

Or maybe "Red Univisium" or "Univisium Red"

We had already called one project as Red 2:1 before, I like how Red comes in as prefix, so we'd go with Red Univisium.

There's an explanation that used to be called Univision, which is easier to remember, why not Univision? Someone has the name rights or something?

Red Univision would be easier to remember.

ah thanks Erik that explains it.
